She WD once, in 2016. She finished 10th last year, as she was not quite on form and had several underrotation/pop/fall issues. However, that might be worse for her: finishing in 10th this past year rather than WDing. But she's doing the right moves to get herself back on top. I'm very optimistic for her this year.

I really don't think Junior careers matter that much. A healthy Polina could have won both times, and that's what matters. And anyway she might have struggled at Junior Wolrds, but she had decent success on the junior circuit, especially during her first season.
Should she deliver consistently this season, the sky is the limit. Unless judges/RusFed are afraid of Eteri's power rising too much.

I think they are all in for exploiting her success, but not 100% okay with her dominating the scene. Look at the way Adelina was always treated more favourably than Yulia, for example.

It's not about Eteri at all. That's Buyanova's power, not RusFed's. And yes, Polina's spot is in a danger even if she is clean at Nationals. Probably Sotskova will get crazy PCS and will beat her. And then, at Olympics, will take 10-20 place with low PCS.

I'm confused in numbers... I forgot that not so many ladies can score 130 at least... And forgot that there will be only two Japanese ladies, so:

Medvedeva
Zagitova
Higuchi
Kostner
Osmond
Mihara/Miyahara

And fight for the 7-10 places between:

Sotskova, Wagner, Chen, Daleman, Nagasu... So yeah, I guess 7th-10th

According to Daria Panenkova ask, their flight was yesterday (Polina, Evgenia and Eteri). But we don't have any airport pictures. Maybe their flight was delayed?

In theory Tsurskaya should have a higher scoring ceiling than Sotskova but even if Polina lands her jumps, her non-jumping elements are prone to low levels. I dont see her getting level 4 on the STSQ. Her spins are also incosistent. She has a lot of cleaning up to do. Ofcourse she needs to be consistent also.

Her advantage to Sotskova is that she still has plenty to offer and areas where she can get points unlike Sotskova who is close to her max. Right now we are only seeing 50% of what Polina can offer

Im not really too worried about the politics in Rusfed. They seem very realistic and doesnt like to compromise winning for politics.
