Daisuke Takahashi announced to be out due to right knee injury

Oh no! I was really looking forward to seeing his new programs. I hope it's not something too serious and wish him a speedy recovery.

I imagine at this point it's too late to add another skater to the roster, right? And that's another person we can cross off for the GPF.

Last year, it was really fun to watch Tomas vs Dai at one of GPs. Both did really well. I thought that Tomas won, but it was Dai. Yet, they were close. I would think that Tomas would be sad to miss Dai at this time.

My vote goes to Tomas for Gold now.

I would not be surprised to see Chipaur come through with a great showing- maybe even a medal here. Especially if he's been following the Can Mens performances so far on the GPs. He has to come out strong here to prove he is in contention for one of the 3 world spots. So far Chan, Sawyer and Reynolds have staken clain to those spots.

Here are my predictions..
If the women's field is anything like Skate America and Skate Canada...most of the women will stink and only one or two will be awesome.

The men's field will be full of surprise medalists....which is why I am going to pick Carriere to do really really well and medal ala Ryan Bradley.

Dance will be the strongest!!

Pairs....a chinese team will probably win.

Hmmm. A thinking poster. I like that.

It will be interesting to see improvements in Leonova, Meier, Hacker and Wagner.
Also Weaver/Poje, the Zaretskis, Cap and Lan, Khok and Novit (mostly this team)
lots of interesting entrants in Mens! Verner and Dai!! Also Borodulin (my pick for most promissing Russian) and more stabile skating of Abbott and Carriere.
It will be P&T and Z&Z battling it out most likely

Nakano also came in behind Suguri and Takeda at a regional Japanese championship - and except for the 3A was in top form at Skate America.

So I guess those summer competitions aren't always reliable.
