I haven't watched it yet, but I do know who won. Yes, I'm the type who unwraps Christmas presents early and rewraps them, and I always read the end of a mystery story first. Shoot me now. :) But I'll let you know after I watch it and listen to TLo's podcast. Then we can dish the dirt. :)

I'm not really sure what I think....

Kelly's would definitely standout with all the sparkle in her fabrics, etc.

Edmund's collection was lovely, but some of the pieces weren't 'new' (meaning we've seen it done by him and /or others before). Perhaps if he had dialed back the ruffles on the white dress, the judges might've been more positive.

I could see what the judges meant by Candice's not being cohesive. Personally, I loved the 1st dress, but I'm not a leather and mostly black person.

I liked some of Ashley's collection, but thought the last one with all the glued on flowers was a bit too much.

I'm not sure if I would've picked Ashley as the winner. I probably leaned a bit towards Kelly after the runway show.

We could sum the finale up in two sentences:

PC stunt winner! Kelly wuz robbed!

Edmund's collection was essentially his take on other designer's designs. And the toilet paper dress and the final gown were tragic. He's got better taste than that--but he does need experience and seasoning. I hope some top design firm hires him. And then I'd like to see another collection from him after 2-3 years of experience. I did love the big bow dress--fab silhouette, particularly the hem, which made me want to go up and see how it was constructed.

Candice sold her vision out for a win. It was like the equivalent of watered-down booze. Lovely first dress yes. Light and breezy and chic. But Korina did leather better (beeyutch that she was).

Some nice pieces in Ashley's collection (the two blue dresses in particular), but it's like the Easter on Acid Collection. What is her obsession with pastel pink and purple? And the glued on flowers was hideous. Absolutely etsy-wetsy time. But she does represent an untapped market for Heidi to exploit... (I'm waiting for the Heidi Klum Plus Size Collection to appear shortly! With a challenge next season to design for it!)

Kelly was tackylicious--and I mean that as a compliment. Yes, not everything worked (the glitter shoes in particular), but I could totally see Bianca Jagger in some of those looks. She really turned out to be the most creative and, well, visionary, of the designers. Whoda thunk it? They throw the word "fresh" out all the time on PR, but I really thought her collection as a whole was "fresh." And fun. And if I was a rich, thin, 20-something woman, I'd snatch up a bunch of her looks. And then hit the clubs. LOVED the fabric she designed for the sheer "strapless" dress. She should have made a funky gown out of it. Hopefully, it will get her out of the deli and into a real design firm. She's got talent.

YMMV of course. It's all de gustibus... ya know?

And I know people whined the season was boring, I enjoyed it far far more than the last few producer-manufactured sturm und drang fests Now if only they had some real time to design and to execute a collection... Well, one can dream right?

I know what you mean, it doesn't bother me that much either.

Here's what I think. I was OK with either Ashley or Edmund winning. Actually, I was hoping that Swapnil would have shown a collection. I think Swapnil thought the whole process was beneath him. I think he commented that he was an established designer. I liked Edmund's collection but it didn't excite me. I think that Candice blamed the judges for her loss and did kind of an oh well.

Sorry, but I hated Kelly's collection. I've seen those outfits hanging in the thrift stores. I don't know if you really looked at the outfit Kelley wore at her show but it was super. Now that to me was what I was hoping she would do.

I don't know if you have been watching Rachel Zoe after PR but she had Ashley on and Rachel & Kelly Osborne were praising Ashley for her collection. I am not that knowledgeable about design and what a collection should be so I really don't know that Ashley should or shouldn't have won.

One of the things that I liked about this season is there wasn't all the drama and bickering going on. It showed the designers struggling with their designs, some real life stuff.

What I didn't like or maybe I should say I didn't understand was when Tim came in to tell Swapnil to clean up his area and not even giving him a hug. So the question I asked myself, is why did (does) Tim give a hug to all the departing designers but not Swapnil?? I think I have mentioned in the past that I was not a Tim Gunn fan and this didn't help that any. I am just wondering if more happened that wasn't shown for Tim to react that way. I used to have a boss that was all sweetie, and honey until something happened, she became cold as ice. So much for sweetie and honey.
