I know mink, etc. are wild. That was meant for those who eat meat, etc.

There are no farmer's markets in the winter here, only in the summer. I do try to get what I can from places like that but it does cost more and if you go to the health stores, their prices are ridiculous. Actually, there aren't many meats I really like.

Follow the Bible: Yes I do follow the sabbath. I go by the new testament. So, I do not believe the eye for an eye or stoning, etc. I do believe that you should only have one wife and in abstinence. Actually, we are to love the person but and not their deeds. I never heard of not mixing meat and cheese. Where is it in the bible? Also, wool and silk. Wouldn't matter because I don't buy silk and am allergic to wool. I dislike the feel of silk and it is hard to take care of. I do like the looks of it. If I had a fur coat, it would have been a gift. I would love it because I just like it and it would keep me warm in the winter.
I don't think I am vain. But I do wear makeup about once a week (to Church) and try to dress according to what looks best on me. Tell me a woman that doesn't try to wear attractive clothing and keep her hair combed. I wear lots of jewelry because my husband made it for me and I love it. It's also a good advertisement.

Actually, God (Jesus) loves everyone, he just doesn't like what they do when they're wrong (according to Him). I have told before what I believe about gays so no need to go into that again. I try to not judge. I know that is probably one of the hardest things to do and I fail miserably.

I just really have a thing about anyone saying what I should or shouldn't do. I do not believe they should attack a person (or their fur coat) just because that is what they believe. So, if I had a fur coat, I should be able to do what I want with it. I haven't answered all the things in the previous posts but hope this helps clear up a few things. So, I love all of you and if you are doing or saying anything I disagree with, that's ok, I will try and not judge.

Now, maybe all us sinners can get back to skating news.

Granny, if you look down in the lower right corner of a post, you will see a blue button that says Quote. If you want to quote that poster, just click on the button in that poster's post. All I did was hit the blue Quote button in your post and it brings up the quote automatically and then I just started typing this response.

Grgranny, all I ask is that people do the best they can. If you can occasionally get meat directly from a farmer, that's great. It's the small things can eliminate the greater suffering of animals.

And please don't put down everyone who works with or is a member of PETA. Most of us really do care about the animals and don't use the extremist tactics you hear about. (every group has its fanatics)

Actually, I didn't mean to sound that mean. I do have a problem with the fanatics. We have one in our community, Fred Phelps, a hateful minister that is getting his bunch to protest at funerals of our slain soldiers. It is just terrible and a big embarrassment for most Kansans.

I have no problem with the beliefs of others as long as they don't tell me what I have to do.

I don't believe in hurting animals. There has been lots of cases in Kansas and just makes me sick.

Grgranny, this is a little off topic, but the idea of not eating meat and cheese at the same meal comes from Exodus 34:26 and Deuteronomy 14:21. The Bible says there, "Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk."

This was regarded as too cruel and inhumane -- adding insult to injury, so to speak. If you have to kill the baby goat for food, at least you don't have to boil him in milk taken from his own mother!

So over the years, just to be on the safe side (because you never know where that milk might have come from), people just started keeping dairy products and meat separate altogether.

The wonderful thing about being an American and living in America, is that you can make choices. If you chose to wear fur that is choice, if you chose to wear rags and a red flannel coat that is also a choice. So what right do you have to decide that it is a wrong choice for Johnny to like and wear fur?? Just curious

And for another poster, the reason Mary had Jesus in a manger was because there was no room at the inn. And as far as not driving a car..you must live in a city with public transit because how else do you get to work or for that matter get to your favorite vegetarian restaurants..your going to single out one skater for driving a car...gee none of the rest of them drive amazing!!

I eat vegetables. Oh it's so great here in america. I'd like to choose to get married to my long time companion but am not allowed to. I'd like to get the same health benefits as the straights but i'm not allowed to. Don't preach to me. Johnny brought this on himself by championing the wearing of fur. He calls himself a democrat. I wonder if he's only a democrat because of the republican bigots. God could have had Jesus born anywhere in the world he wanted. He chose to be close to the animals.
