Russian Senior Test Skates 2022

And you believe the story about the glass? I'd buy it if Kamila had gone directly to the doctor and disclosed it. Which is what one would do if it was an accident. It was HEART medicine. If I accidentally injested that I'd be so scared I'd go to the hospital.

No, not only did Eteri drug her, she left Kamila scrambling for a story which involved throwing her own grandfather under the bus.

Eteri is an actual psychopath and she's just ruined this entire event for me.
If you want to discuss your personal issues on the topic it's better to find another thread (or another website ). You are way too :ot: here.

Dare I say that Kamila has improved from last year? That’s a scary proposition.

This whole process has only made her mentally stronger. I know I drone on an on about Anna’s all time great mental strength, but Kamila has to be in that category now as well.

This program is gold, a tremendous middle finger to the organizations and naysayers.

The standing ovation she received is exactly how I feel.

Adeliya is fast. I don't understand that kind of music for her.
I would have given her Carmen in which she would play a torero.

From what i know they are not allowed to compete internationally this year. And 'competitive setting' is professional skaters everyday life. The same way Gabby talked about her issues, i don't see why Kamila shouldn't, in any way she want.
Did I miss Gabby skating a program intended for competition about her abortion and depression? Talking about it once in a documentary is very different than being confronted by it every time you step on the ice, in both training and competition.

And did I miss the memo that domestic competitions are no longer competitions (especially those as heavily publicised as the Russian Cup/GP)? I thought people were of the opinion that this season, domestic competitions in Russia are even more valid and important competitions than international ones.

So the Kamila program is very pretty and you wouldn't know what it referenced if you cut off the beginning voice-overs and the ending hood.
I don't have any idea how Kamila feels about this. If she's been told the evil west just doctored her samples to try to keep her from Gold or what. But if that's the story or similar, this may feel like a "revenge program" to her for those that stole Gold from her. This program is going to play very well to a Russian audience I would think, but not an international audience obviously. Which is why they're doing it right now. They're banned and trying to keep their country's theme of "we're all in this together against the evil west that wants to destroy Russia's greatness!" So this program fits that.

For the skater and what she went thru, I can see how such a program would feel cathartic. But from an international standpoint, it is such. a bad. idea. They're going to eat this alive on international social media instead of being sympathetic to it. (Which could be further used to "prove" the narrative that everything outside of Russia is evil and hateful.)

I agree with another comment I saw: even if she's somehow totally innocent, it's still a really bad idea. I don't know that the coaching team is "out of touch". I think it's "we're banned anyway! we can do whatever we want!" attitude.

I agree. I would like to know how Kamila feels about this as well.
The whole thing seems to be gaining quite a bit of controversy across the internet already.

Honestly, returning back to the new programs, I'm not too impressed with anyone's Free so far. Lot of (at least partially) mediocre to downright bad music choices.
The music choices so far have definitely been interesting. I'm not so sure how to feel. Nevertheless, I still think some of the programs have been beautiful.

Sofia S. I'm actually good with this music. So I hope the real dress will match well and not be ugly.

In choreography, yes, some have been beautiful, but mostly just because of the skaters performing them.

You could probably give any of the skaters here any program, and no matter how bad the program was, it would still be beautiful because they themselves and their skating are beautiful.

Samodelkina - Ugliest arrangement of Ave Maria ever. The screeching woman!
Matronly dress has to go.

Yes I agree. I think a majority of today's skaters could make any choreography appear beautiful.
I have seen a lot of beautiful skating today, but no mind-blowing choreography I am hoping for.

I think this is the completely wrong way to look at it. The programme is not about Russia vs The world or Eteri vs Tomas Bach. It's simply about Kamila's emotions and her life experience
