I'll say it again but..aren't these just mostly warm-up/practice outfits they are wearing?

Still Sam, Liza's outfit was fugly!! She should have worn some plain old black tights and a practice shirt rather than a sheer muumuu!
hwell: I really hope she adds some technicolor to her wardrobe this year...Here are my thoughts on Anna's SP (from FSU): Not bad. I definitely like her new flying camel spin but her combo spin is still really messy looking. The program has potential but it's still very unrefined. She's lacking the finesse needed to make it look passionate without looking sloppy. Hopefully she'll continue to work on it (and that 2A).

Hmm.... What happened at the end? I guess it's too early to say but it seemed quite frantic especially the SS and very dramatic. Overall it's a good program if executed a little better but that seems to be the point of these test skates. I'm sure she'll get it together for the GP.

Given it was her SP, I'm assuming that final spin was her layback and she just marked it instead of doing it.
I know! I want to see Julia, Adelina and Elena's SPs too!!

Not bad. I hope she will improve the spin and the 2A. Other than that the costume and the step are okay. She looks really mature.

I know! People sometimes forget she's only 15/16. She's a stunning girl, that's for sure. If the skating thing doesn't work out I think she'd be a great beauty model. :agree:

I found a Kovtun interview but it's in Russian. I tried to google translate it but when I saw the word triple "sheepskin" I started laughing and just stopped so you're on your own

The gist I got from it is that he is working well with Tchernyshev and listens much better and believes more in him. As such he is performing better and multiple coaches noted it. He was also happy to see positive feed back, especially from Russian fans, when he debuted his new LP at Mao's Ice show. He seemed to appreciate positive feedback from Charlie White and landed a 4s and 4t easily in his SP.

Wow, that was frantic. Her spins still need work, but I think they've improved since Worlds :yes:. Her double axel...
hwell:. The skirt looks nice in motion, but I don't think the outfit matches the music. And that's not something I often think.
^Yeah, the music is very dramatic (a bit OTT) and her outfit makes it look like she's skating to Bach's Air on the G String instead.
Agree with you that Anna P. looks frantic. She has good speed, but not enough refinement and control over her moves. The entire thing looks sloppy to me; her spins and extensions are a big eyesore. I can't figure out how she rose through the ranks with such subpar spins.

Quiet liked Anna's SP... dramatic never hurts
But I wish she would stop doing the Illusion spin....when she or say Mao do them it looks really "ugly" to me... they hunch there back so much and don't keep their leg straight. The only one I've seen that looked great is Sotnikova's.
But that's just a little personal thing.
Btw isn't it forbidden to film this, cause like it was mentioned earlier it's not meant for everybody yet ?

LMAO that "sheepskin" is toe loop jump XD He said that there are 3 quads in his FS, one salchow and two sh.. I mean toe loops.
When I was a kid I wondered why one of the jumps is named same as clothes. But then I grew up and found that it's actually homonym of English origin lol
It was quite nice interview, hope someone will translate it for Kovtun's foreign fans

It gave me some interesting insight. Moris skated at CSKA until 13, he was wondering if he should quit skating but he and his parents decided that maybe they should try to change coach. They chose Eteri and she said him "Either you'd work, or you can leave right now". As you see he is still skating and can do 4T and 4S, and he's pretty good... except he is weak to pressure.
This year he keeps last year short program (Interview with the Vampire) and has new blues LP (choreographed by Eteri and Alexei Zheleznyakov).

Thanks! I have to find see some of her programs so I get familiar with her.
From title of the YouTube channel this video is uploaded, it seems that it is official video filmed for coach and skater (remember what was said about junior skates? Officials send video and notes after the test skate). It's titled "11. Pogorilaya" so there should be at least 10 more videos of other skaters all set as private.
