Samuelson/Bates vs. Davis/White

Hi everyone,

I just had a question about ice dancing. So at nationals this year, I noticed how Samuelson and Bates' steps were always matching, in mirror images of each other, wherease Davis/White and the other Schpilband teams were not...Is it a matter of style, and taste, or is it actually superior and more difficult to try and match for a dancer to match one's partner's steps exactly like S/B do? I was just wondering.....

Mirror images are tough. I'm not sure if difficulty comes into the picture. Personally I had more trouble with a Flip than a Lutz but the ISU gives more points to the Lutz. Advantage: Joe!

D/W and S/B should be an interesting small contest among themselves. With the Hubbells thrown in, it will be more exciting.
