Well, you also have to remember that Yuzu said he feels the younger Japanese skaters are treating him like he's so much older... with all his success, maybe he really is just trying to put everyone at ease around him so that they will talk to him and since the people at these competitions are usually Satoko and Shoma, that means putting them at ease. You can't really communicate with someone who is scared/shy around you, so you break down the barriers somehow. The best way is to tease and laugh (Satoko), pinch their cheeks (Shoma)... check.
 
yuzuru x satoko would be adorable. imagine how good their kids would be at skating! :p

but then again, they are teammates, not to mention they speak the same language, so I'm not surprised he's closer to satton than to evgenia. he does the same touchy tease-y stuff with shoma too.

but maybe it's because I'm just not mentally ready for that news yet. :p

I am thinking about Yuzoko in the present rather than their surely-to-be-cute-and-talented babies. If Yuzu had her level of consistency and mental toughness, and if she had his textbook jumping technique, both would be unstoppable. They are already my favorite male and female skaters so if anything I just feel like those qualities rubbing off on the other would make them even better :hap93:. But I'm sure it would be hard since he doesn't live in Japan most of the time.

Y'know, while I'm sure I'll feel equally heartbroken regardless, I'd be glad if he does end up with Satoko :p To me she's like the Cinderella of the skating world, extremely reserved, modest, and hardworking. She has definitely not received many freebies in her career that wasn't due to hard work (unlike some other skaters being hyped and held up for their star power, explosiveness, looks, etc). So it would be nice to see the modest, hard-working girl get the guy for once :laugh: :p

Yes though it’s old infor and both girls got married recently I don’t know his current ideal in girls, as possibility Yui Aragaki (Mikuri the heroin of the drama) that he is hooked.
She is very cute about the same as Maki and Aya :p

Back to Satoko, I can re-watching her EX performance at GPF more and wouldn’t get bored that’s a pure joy to watch, her maturity and refinement in her skating are noticeable (like Mao), not to mention the beauty of her deep blue costume is also spot on, very suits on Satoko. :thumbsup:

It didn't seem to me like Satoko and Shoma were (still) shy around him when I watched videos of the GPF gala practice. They were very casual and comfortable with each other. Satoko was also making Yuzuru laugh. I think Yuzuru's celebrity status isn't a barrier between them. :)
 
Exactly. It worked. Now they are all more comfortable around each other and can interact normally.
 
I have mixed feelings about Satoko winning an Olympic medal. While it's something I really want for her, I don't want people to turn her into another Adelina Sotnikova since some of them are still bitter with her GPF scores (suddenly she's one of the most overscored skaters according to that thread in The Edge).

I don't think that'll happen unless it's a gold medal. Otherwise, she can forget the haters when her homeland showers her with adoration. They tend to treat their silver and bronze medallists much better than we do here in the states.

So CBC was just showing Satoko's long program at GPF and Kurt and Carol were very impressed. Kurt said at the end that there were lots of lovely little jewels in this program. He also said she is small but does not think there is any music that is too big for her, that she is never off balance...And he also said she stared down the judges, daring them not to give her the marks, lol. Carol said the jumps got bigger as her confidence grew in the program. Kurt laughs that she even stares down the monitor waiting for the marks, lol. They like her :)
 
It would not surprise me if javi was doing the same to yuzu at those moments. He has a history of doing that to him... now yuzu is passing it on.

I've even seen non-fan saying "Is it me or her lutz has become bigger?", so that's saying a lot that people realizing her jumps ARE improving. :)

And while I do worry about what can happen to her in 2018, I also agree that she won't go through what Adelina had. Not if she get silver or bronze. She'd win gold only if others (well, expecially Zhenya) make big mistakes. But if she keeps on improving like she does, who knows what can happen?
I remember a post on tumblr saying they were worried that Satoko could not be selected for Olympics. I don't see how something like that can happen, considering she's been the most reliable Japanese female skater since Sochi. Of course, it's way too early to talk about selection, that are gonna be tough since Satoko, Wakaba, Marin, Mao, Rika, Kaori, etc... are potential candidates, but I'm almost 100% sure that Satoko will have her spot.

You know, I'm now wondering if Yuzu was really ticking her or if Yuzu's hand was just cold, because she has a bare back with this costume, and his hand was flat on it, lol! :laugh: But either way, it's very cute. :love:

Well, there's the famous moment of Finlandia 2012 where Javi tickled Yuzu on the podium. ;)

Yuzuru was wearing gloves though. And you can see his hand moving all over her back. :laugh:
