Basically she is using her muscles little by little in order to increase the height of her jumps in an efficient and safe way. I hope this clarifies things for people who are stubborn to think she will never fix her jumps because she gets awarded for them anyway. I'm not 100% sure about the translation but I think everyone gets the main ideas.
havent you heard? Satoko or her team has no incentive to improve her jumps because she is already getting credits for them
anyway, here is OniBan's report from 4CC (thank you!
)Satoko Miyahara - is. super. good. Clean, precise, subtle, elegant, innate musicality, what can I say? My brother (who, I have to admit, got dragged to watch this competition with me against his will XD) didn't stand up for any of the standing ovations that had happened so far. But he actually stood up for the first time, willingly all on his own - for Satoko! I could have cried XD
I have always thought Un Sospiro program is a bit snoozy, but looking at it from where I am sitting - I realized it's really designed to showcase her skating skills to the best effect. It had her covering large areas of the ice in a short time, creating the impression of large sweeping movements to reach out to the audience. The step sequence is done all across the rink (instead of a small contained area as is the case with some skaters in previous groups) in large, graceful arcs ... it's hard to explain because it's something that's definitely there when you see it as a whole but so hard to put into words when I try to break it down into quantitative form XD. All I know is that it totally makes a difference in the overall presentation, and makes me appreciate this program a bit more(ok a whole lot more XD)
Her jumps - while they don't soar (not a lot of the ladies' jumps do), aren't as tiny as some make them out to be - as I mentioned before they are proportionate to her size.
btw, i watched Satoko's SP from ice show, maybe its just me but i really love that version, i feel beginning and ending of stsq is better, her movements are still commanding but without stopping completely

i was just curious since i dont remember seeing her do any, maybe i will watch her old videos to see if she did
