I found the additional info. Shoma appeared at YRSA with David Wilson. He was only there on the day he took pictures with local skaters. No details.

Oh my gosh! Thank you 0smile0. I can't believe it! Maybe Shoma will work with another choreographer?! I wonder if they actually did some work or if he was just meeting him to discuss possible future work. Great detective work. Thank you! This could be what we've been dreaming about for awhile now. They are definitely thinking about the Olympic year.

I went to Ostrava this weekend and got a really wonderful experience. I tried to share it in a suitable thread, but Men’s competition changed my mind.
I had to know what Shoma is fighting with. It’s politics.
The Men’s result was shocking. What shocked me was most people were silent about Javi’s overscore in FS. I rarely go to the threads other than Fan threads, but I know how hard and dirty attacks are done with Shoma, Yuzu,,.
The last December, I enjoyed Japanese Nationals and went to the thread of Japanese Nats to enjoy the discussion. But it was a dirty place. Many foreigners were gushing over overscore or so including personal attacks with hate although Nationals is a kind of private competition. I really thought, “It’s none of your business. It’s our Nationals. Why you bother to come here in this fun Christmas season?”. The reality is many people are waiting to attack Japanese skaters finding some reasons. What surprised me is most people critisizing yuzu or shoma's scores are silent about Javi’s overscore this time.
And I must realize this sport is not ours but Europeans' and North Americans'. Ive read that one JSF chief said that 20 years ago David Wilson rejected the offers by Japanese, of course at that time Japan was a weak and small country in figure skating. For many years, those who were concerned with figure skating in Japan had worked very hard to heighten the position. Luckily, we had wonderful skaters like Daisuke and I’m really glad that some figure skating fans remember their performances. But the reality is the same. Javi can get easily high score without any criticism since he’s an European. I remember how mean the official reports and newspapers in Boston about Worlds 2016 were. They showed Yuzu’s fall photos comfortably and repeated the criticism. When he won the GPF the last December, it was the same. It’s the opposite that this time no foreign official report says about Javi's shabby skating, overscore and show a nasty fall photo and just praise him. I must know this is this sport. They want to exclude Japanese skaters. Personally, I really love sweet Javi and have no intention with him. But this European thought me the important thing. So far, I tried not to say about judging, since I wanted to believe they are fair. But this time, I really come to know it’s a white lie.
I will be away from this sport after my favorites retire. This sport is very dangerous nowadays. The impact of Nathan’s 5 quads totally changed this men's sport, totally. My wish is just this. Jason, Shoma, yuzu… those my favorites shall stay healthy. Their lives continues after their retirement. Still my heart gets sad to think Joshua must have left this sport. I really loved him and now I hope he has no aftereffect.
Finally I know it’s time for me to leave GS. The reason why I came here was that I wanted to be a help for the foreigners who love yuzu, since Japanese language is unique and difficult to understand for foreigners. Sometimes I worked hard for translations with my poor English, and they were really fun experiences. But now I feel that I must quit being concerned about social media. This is originally organized from Golden Skate (US?) and the place for foreigners. Every time I come here, I will remember the hate comments here and the dirty side of figure skating. I don’t want to complex my precious life and time.
I feel really gratitude with the members here. I could enjoy the fun discussion.

What?! Noooooo, please don't leave us. sobs.
But I completely understand your feeling. That's why I try to avoid competition thread. That ruins the joy of competition.
*Sighs* I understand. But let's focus on all the positives and hope that, the strange standard of scoring, as outrageously high as it can climb, stays consistent for all skaters! 
Too much hate in the world this week, so let's enjoy some sweet notes: Satoko just showed the media a really beautiful cloth skate cover that she uses, and said it's handcrafted and given to her by Shoma's aunt (who we know have made handcrafts for all skaters in some of his ice shows). That's really sweet!

Hello. The next two weeks sees figure skating costumes in Miitomo Drop in Miitomo, Nintendo's social app! I've taken a Mii of Shoma I found on the web and dressed it in what I believe comes close to the LOCO LOCO LOCO tango costume. Check it out!
I'm so sorry hamaguri that you feel this way. I totally understand where you're coming from and sometimes this forum gets overwhelming, especially in the competition threads. I also think that Javier's performance in Europeans was nothing to be proud of, but Javier has a status now that gets him these scores regardless. And in Europe itself there is not one skater at the moment who comes close. For me it is absolutely frustrating to read the competition threads of any competition where Shoma is taking part. I get so mad and have to stop reading this. It came so far that I vented in this thread and people came after me. I'm not proud of that, I did wrong but it just was unfair and I couldn't stand the negativity. I've never experienced this as much when I liked Daisuke, but he also had loads of criticism. It's hard because the two of my favourites Anna and Shoma are having it hard these days, others always get a bonus and they have to work extra hard and well....let's see what Worlds will bring. Maybe you will think about it, maybe only visit the fanfests? I would miss you for sure, thank you for sharing you knowledge of the japanese language here with us. Regardless, have fun in Helsinki and give an extra loud cheer when Shoma comes on the ice!

Hello hamaguri. I am so sorry that you will be leaving GS. I always appreciated your input, honesty, fairness and hard work on this forum.

That's very sad that the very obvious rigged scoring makes super fans like you and probably many others lose interest in the sport.
Thanks for your translations, they were always great.
In other news I personally hope that Shoma doesn't get choreography from David Wilson because appart from very few exceptions, i think he is a dreadful choreographer

I'm not overly interested in seeing Shoma skate to a choreography from David Wilson either. He bores me. I'd rather see Camerlengo do something fierce for Shoma. Maybe to change the formula around a bit, but I actually like what his team comes up with every year. It fits!

yeah Camerlengo or Bourne why not?That'd be cool I think. But same I do like Higuchi as a choreographer a lot. She doesn't get enough recognition.

Hate to see you go, but totally understand. As for the overscoring comments, not sure if you follow any of the other boards, but the Russians, Canadians, and Americans were all attached for overscoring as well. Personally, I think Japan does far less overscoring that the other three. I agree that the board (and all social media) becomes very negative at times. I've spent less time on social media in general these days. By the way, your English, at least in this post, is quite good. You probably won't read this, but best of luck!

I always look forward to your thoughtful and insightful comments...I will say that I have been watching figure skating since I am 12 years old (and I am an old lady now!), and there has always been controversy regarding the scores. I am sure that Javi was not happy with his performance at this competition, and his coaches did not look particularly happy either. I think for many years the I.S.U. has been very concerned that there were fewer and fewer people on the podium from Europe, and they of course want to keep Europeans interested in the sport. Once Javi is gone, who is going to be the main man from Europe? Deniss Vasiljevs looks promising, I've always liked Jorik from Belgium, but the pool of people seems to be small. I don't mean to be disrespectful to Javi, because he is a hard worker and I don't think receives much help from his Federation. But I do think there were probably times when he received rather high scores. (I guess we can probably say that about many skaters)
I hope that maybe you will reconsider and still keep coming to the friendly Shoma thread. There are many of us who love the Japanese skaters and respect their work ethic, their creativity, and the professional way in which they conduct themselves...Yes, this is a VERY dangerous sport. Skaters are gymnasts with razor blades on their feet! Do we really need 5 quad programs??! And of course when I wrote in a thread that quads should be limited, everyone jumped all over me. "But it's a sport! Why would you limit jumps?!" This isn't jump skating, it's figure skating! Besides all the hip and stress fracture problems, I am becoming more and more concerned about all the concussions! (BTW Tarah & Danny could not defend their pairs title at our Nationals because Tarah suffered a concussion in the SP).
ETA -- Although I have been a forum member for awhile, I have only been actively posting since last March. It didn't take me long (as I'm sure was the case for others!) to figure out that although there are a lot of really nice, wonderful people who come here, there are also a lot of amazingly rude people here too. So sorry for any hurtful remarks that might have been made to you!

After seeing Mura's SP this year that was done by Massimo Scali, I like the thought of Shoma working with him. I also think of Kurt Browning calling Shoma a magician when he did his modern skate SP from last year. Hopefully he can capitalize on his ability to do all that awesome upper body movement he does!
Yasss! I've always thought so. I'm really interested in Shoma changing things and experimenting with different styles of choreography outside of his serious approach, but fluffy coat-sensei creates the best step sequences in the world! I mean, look at Kanako's stsq too!
