Happy New Year from the Arctic! -27F/-32C with the wind chills. Good day to stay in! Best wishes to everyone, especially our Prince of Hearts -- good health, good skating, and a good Olympics. Reminds me... Where do we find the picture of Shoma facing Satoko in a pose during practice for THE ICE 2016? He had an all-out smile then, and that was a really nice picture too!

Love that thread too. I really do need some Shoma’s smiles to cheer me up sometimes. Hope that Sho is training well and feeling strong and ready for the Olympics. It’s only a month away and I already felt some butterflies.

This is a survey done by Oricon every year where respondents are asked who among the celebrities who have gone through the Coming-of-Age ceremony that year they expect to do well going forward. This year's survey had 1,000 respondents in various age groups from teens to 50s

So apparently this whole "Shoma hates vegetables" thing is getting bigger and bigger. When Shoma was introduced in the Olympic team presentation in TV broadcast they had a text saying "Shoma Uno: the young ace of the Japanese figure skating world that continues to evolve. His fans also worry greatly about his hatred for vegetables.” Poor Shoma!

This exhibition program is pretty nice. I think along with Nathan, Shoma uses his arms and hands very effectively in the current field, so not only does he look charismatic, but also can he draw viewers in more his programs. You know a lot of men have stiff arms on ice.

Maybe he thought the Kategaiho shoot was enough ("That's my ceremony, I don't need another !"), then snuck off to Chicago to practice. [emoji13] I hope so, anyway.

Actually, I didn't see any pictures of him at the recent Nagoya Skating Festival either (I think Keiji, Mura, Marin, Kaori, Rika Kihira were there, maybe Mai?), so it looks like he's in hiding again somewhere.

Shoma has basically no rival at 4CC now (no I didn’t forget Patrick, but I doubt he’ll even go. No one in Team USA is going, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Canadian fed do the same with their own athletes), so the title is his to loose.

No news don’t mean bad news. Maybe he wants to stay discreet and prepare quietly, like Yuzu. It would be a safe strategy, especially considering he has a lot coming up.
