I thought that there are some very interesting things in this.
I agree with him and think that his SP is not quite there yet. Maybe that's one of the reasons why the public reception is polarizing. He has the skills to skate the program, but still working on performing the program. He has yet to sell it to the audience. I'm glad he keeps looking at videos of Dai, because he was THE master of performing any kind of program. Shoma's expression range so far blends very well with his dramatic FS, but I think his SP is missing more fire, more power. It's still early in the season so I'm glad he keeps looking for ways to improve.
I think he already is. There are still plenty of things to improve, but he's only 17 (18 soon) and he's already way ahead of skaters his own age.It would be incredible to be a skater who can bring joy to the audience with their performances.
