Seems like Max Aaron and his coach really liked Shoma`s new costume :D

Max has good taste! :luv17: I'll miss the pretty red shirt with the diamond shape pattern, but this new costume is beautiful and is wonderful for Shoma! It creates a little longer line for him and maybe makes him look ever-so-slightly (!?) taller. Uh oh, was Shoma trying out his English? My guess is they were speaking Englipanese.:agree:

I’ve updated the OP with the results from Lombardia Trophy. Congrats to the 1st place overall. Congratulations to the medalists

I prefer the overall look of this one to the red V although I can’t really see the details from my screen. I liked the program much better than I did at summer shows. Milva’s screaming, on the other hand, is starting to bug me and it’s only his first competition :hpull: How will I survive the season? I need Paul Potts back. Good to see that some of his jumps improved.

Striking a pose.
A moment with Jason.
Signing an autograph for a fan. She wished him luck because she's going to Marseille, only to be asked, "What is Marseille?" Reminds me of when he asked a reporter if PyeongChang was in South Korea when he competed at 2015 4CC :scard7:

I think this costume would suit Max actually :)

I have to say I love his FS costume. When I saw it I thought to myself, finally! Something that actually makes him appear taller and older!

I love the program and I LOVE the costume. The music really grew on me and I think the interpretation is good and complex. Congrats to Shoma for his win. However I really have a problem with the number of crossovers he does in the program.

Agreed, I was hoping they'd introduce more transitions. The spread-eagle into 3A into cantilever in the SP is pretty awesome but other than that I actually find the SP emptier than the FS.

Hello!
I am a new member of this forum and this is my first post.
I have only been a fan of figure skating since I moved to Japan and had my first proper exposure to the have sport in 2013-14 season (in my country literally only football has any exposure) so I'm still learning and i hope to do so more in this forum :)
I really, really like Shoma-kun a huge lot and his free just now at Lombardia Trophy was amazing! People seem to dislike the music but I grew up listening to Piazzolla so I do enjoy it. Actually I think he really interprets this music so well!
I will see him live for the first time at Japan Open this October and I'm so excited.
Sorry for the lengthy first post!

Welcome to GS Forum, kurara! Post often post long. :)

If Shoma and his skating attracted your attention, I would say you do have a really good eye in figure skating :agree: despite the fact your exposure to the sport got started only in 2013-14 season.

Are you going to Japan Opne? How nice! Have a great time there. :) and hopefully you will drop some report on the competition when you have time and it's not too much trouble to you, let us know how you like his Piazzolla program, please.

Please cheer for our little Shoma for us! :hap10::hap10:

Welcome to GS kurara! We have a great group here and have a lot of fun.

I second what deedee says, if you go to Japan Open give a big cheer and shout out
to Shoma for all of his fans at GS and if it is not to much trouble give a cheer to
Uncle Dai!

I'm more worried about Shoma getting the adequate rest and off-ice training his needs to stay healthy.

I think he is doing those things and hope he continues to do so and doesn't get too panicky as the big competitions get closer. We'll have to have Uncle Dai get after him! :)

ETA After all, he did tell him to have the courage to rest.

La Vie en Rose EX choreographed by Stephane.

How do you feel about it? It's Stephane's program except that cantilever eagle! I can easily imagine him skating. Further, who is the men vocal? Piaf's voice seems inserted. I love chanson, but at the same time this genre is difficult for Japanese, especially young, since they need some kind of maturity like wine. Anyway, there must have been a reason why he picked up this piece for shoma. I'm looking forward to seeing this program growing on me this season!

Welcome welcome! Have a good time at Japan open! :)
Yes, I believe in his musicality. He must make this fp his own program even if he takes some time. Without challenge, a person can't improve oneself!
