Well, that was a rather underwhelming skate today, but at least it's not an important competition and Shoma can still fight back on Sunday. Nothing is lost yet! :cheer2:


But please bring back the purple at Worlds, Shoma! Blue doesn't seem to be your lucky colour. ;) (Gosh, I'm dreading the plucked chicken now... :scard8:)

^^^BTW synesthesia, last I heard, Shoma is coming to work with Alex (and probably Vladimir) again in June. Not 100% certain if that's still the game plan. As of Dec. that was the plan.

He looked a bit tired to me. Two big competitions back to back is not an easy feat. Usually we can count on him on the big stage. I'm full of trust for Worlds.
 
Not Shoma's best skate today. I agree that he did look tired. Not even 1 point separate him and Boyang.

What do you all think of his new costume? I like it but the purple is my favorite.

I like the shirt better than the previous. While I like the purple pants better than the black. But the blue shirt with the purple pants wouldn't look that good. So I'm okay with the changes, or even if he goes back to the old one. I just hope he won't change LOCO. :(

good job fighting for that skate even though he looked rather tired i agree.
What even is a combo?? combos are for losers :p
 
Darn -- set the alarm for 5 am so I could see my favorite pirate (Brendan). Watched him and fell sound asleep and woke up and the entire thing was done. Have only watched Shoma. He looked pretty wiped out, and that blue color doesn't do him any favors. Don't know that I expected him to come out and light the world on fire. That's ok, it will give his detractors a lot to talk about.

But I am still in a happy place. A Fed Ex truck pulled up and had a delivery for me -- my Worlds tickets! :yahoo: I'm so excited!
 
Wow, Arriba you're going to Worlds? I'm so jealous. I would love to go and see Shoma and meet some GSers. Can you imagine the Shoma FanFest thread having a blast at Worlds? We would wear shirts one with L, another with O, the next one with a C and the last one with an O. The two O's could change seats without anyone noticing! And if more people would like to join they could do the PIANTAO!

demarinis, thanks for standing up for me in the AWG thread. I read that comment, you responded to and wrote a real 'nice' answer but then I took a step back, reread the Guidelines of GS and reminded myself that I'm not like that. And that we have an ignore function and I'm going to use it, so I won't even see these things anymore. Cause it's honestly always the same people. Well, I'm not going to engage anymore. It only makes me sad.

^^^Yes I made the decision to go, even though it was probably a bit piantao on my part. I figure our favorites all have such short careers, so you gotta just do it. Plus it's highly unlikely Shoma will have Sk Amer or Sk Can next year, GPF is in Japan, no Olympics for me -- so I just don't see when the next opportunity will be for me to see him skate. I always worry that one misstep, and a career can be over. Not to be overly pessimistic :roll5: , but you never know.

Oh no, sounds like I missed the usual in the AWG thread. Dare I look. Let me guess -- underrotated, overrated, prerotated, messy landings, 3.5 jumps, judges' pet, and of course no transitions. And that's just for starters. Short program? Get it done.
