Heading to Helsinki! Love that he's wearing his BE BRAVE shirt! He thrives on hard work, so I think he'll be fine. If he can live through a month like he had in December, I think he can live through anything. My biggest concern with him is his jet lag, so he's doing the right thing as far as that goes. And hopefully that will help him a little bit with his nerves. A little good luck is always nice too!

^^^Thank you deedee1! Part 2 is indeed very interesting -- Shoma working with Alex at Center Ice -- doing his plyometrics. Poor Shoma! Alex was so tough on him! Looks like the back of his shirt is completely wet! I think right after that was when we saw the Shoma the Dolphin video when he was in the whirlpool.



ETA -- Interesting, looks like Itsuki is going to Helsinki too! Hopefully he is going along for moral support! He is at the very beginning of the video, to the right of Shoma and wheeling a luggage cart. Also at the :40 mark. sorry guys... i was so busy with other issues LOL... and forgot to reply about jet lag... i didn't know it affected Shoma... thanks for the information... poor guy... considering athletes travel so much, let's hope he learns gradually to pace himself and how to improve the side effects

I said I don't suffer from it... but maybe it's just because I am one of these people who

1) can never sleep on the plane....
2) will land and make sure I go to bed at my usual time, tired or not.... so the next day, I feel accustomed...

Only once in my entire life have I gone to bed at the usual night time, and woke up 20 hours later LOL... usually i am fine.


In any case, worlds will be exciting. If you see, on my new avatar, there is a hint of my Shoma love LOL.. i just noticed LOL

Plus his brother gets to go sightseeing while Shoma's busy at whatever secret European rink they got going. His parents are going too, right?

Didn't someone say his mother was at the airport too, when Shoma was departing for Europe? That's why I assumed she was going too, and if Shoma's brother is with them, I assume they're just taking some vacation time in whatever-country-in-Europe, while Shoma trains there for Worlds.

Pretty sure his mother goes everywhere with him, but I never can find her in the videos...Itsuki has been doing lots of travel -- 10 days in Oct. to Chicago during Sk Amer and 10 days in Dec. when Shoma trained here, now Helsinki. Not sure about other competitions. He and Shoma seem to be good buddies, and I hope he has a calming influence on him. I still wonder though does Itsuki go to school?!

Oh no -- should I say Happy St. Patrick's Day again?! Only this time I would be a week late instead of a week early! :scard7: But still, love the avatar.

I leave tomorrow. That is, if I have my suitcase packed by then! I want to just blink my eyes and be there! I have a few flags but no Shoma-kun banner. I would love one of those that has his name with the orange sun for the letter "O". Too late now though. And I don't even have a gift for him. Oh well, next time!...I will be posting a few reports and photos, although it's hard to discipline myself when I get in the excitement of the moment. I think Shoma's first practice is at 11:15 am Monday. And the burning question -- what coat will Fluffy be wearing!?
