I can't find adequate words to describe how I felt watching Shoma's fs at Worlds. For me, it was sheer brilliance, performance wise, so alive, vibrant, intense, and unlike any other figure skating performance I've ever seen. Ever. (And I only watched on NBCSN, I can only imagine what it was like watching live, lol.). I honesty can't think of another skater (except maybe Dai) who could pull off skating to that kind of eccentric music as well as he does. I think it might become an iconic piece for him. What a talent.

I've taken a bit of a break from most of GS the last few months due to my health (finally recovering!) and wanting to just watch FS without reading all the carping, but I have read this thread regularly and I've enjoyed Worlds enormously!

Shoma was amazing. I've just written a long post about how much I loved him and his performances in the FS thread. I am so proud of him and I hope he can have a bit of a break to refresh because he has worked sooooo hard this season. Silver medalist, Shoma Uno! Wow! What an achievement!

Welcome back! I usuallly don't post on GS, off season. I predict I'll be gone in a few days and return when the GP starts or if I go to Nebelhorn. But I certainly will seek out news about Shoma's new programs and his preperation for what's to come, and return once in a while. And then maybe we can all cheer on him in the Olympic season, having each others back. He's our Shoma, and we are his FanFest! Let's PARTY in our cozy thread, one last time!

Give me an L! Give me an O! Give me a C! Give me an O!

WHAT DO YOU GET?

I saw it. It's a beautiful movie. Funny, touching and fantastical. I recommend it.

Yes it's an absolute wonderful movie. It's "kimi no na wa" in japanese. It was a big, big success in Japan last year, the kind you would expect only Miyazaki films would get.

Absolutely thrilled with Shoma's silver, actually I predicted the men's podium correctly (evidence actually exists in the Hanyu topic, lol, it was my dream podium becoming real).
Shoma's time will come, actually he is really close already!

Just dropping by for now to ask if there is interest in Dutch commentary translations (Eurosport and Dutch public telly) ? I still have a few days of vacation left, I can try and fit it in there somewhere. ;-)

Of course, that would be great Winnie! I hope you had a great time and thank you for always being fair and supporting Shoma as well as Yuzuru!

Shoma made a "not true" gesture though, when Yuzuru said this.

Of course, Yuzuru was just teasing. On the other hand I don't doubt that Shoma wouldn't come knocking on Yuzuru's door at night to play games. ;)

Hi, im on the way to my home. Still I feel like im in a dream!
I want to share some information and reports with you tomorrow!

Btw, today I saw daisuke and shoma at the airport. They walked freely! I said to shoma just congratulations, but leave daisuke so as not to bother him. They talked together with kikuchi san and ms. Kobashi of jsf!

Thanks hamaguri! Ah, Daisuke and Shoma what a lucky day. Good for them that they were walking freely. Honestly I hope that the hype around Shoma will never reach Yuzuru's level, so that he can live a normal life and walk around without being stalked.

People have compared shoma to daisuke and patrick, and I feel he could really be that perfect blend of them both + multiple quads, and become the goat! I am eager to see him next season.

Also, has he said something about keeping his programs?

Become the goat? What does that mean? I don't want Shoma to turn into a goat! :(

I don't think he will keep them. Fluffy (Mihoko Higuchi, his stylish coach, usually travels with him to the competitions) usually chooses and choreographs Shoma's program, I guess with help from Yamada (his coach from home). Shoma's still at a stage where he trusts , and does what they tell him to do, program-wise. I hope they will choose something funky, like his SP from last season and one more classical program.

He did so well, considering the pressure was so high and he always had that disappointment from last year at the back of his mind. He kept referring to that debut Championship all the time. I think it really made him grow, and all the mistakes they made last year, like overtraining etc. they tried to eliminate.

GOAT... means *greatest of all time.* YOu see Federer often referred to as the GOAT. It's a good thing, but it doesn't sound good if you don't know what it stands for.

* Greatest of all time :) but yeah it's a pretty terrible acronym.

So long hair and happy coach is Yamada or Higuchi? That's a shame he won't keep his long though. Such a great program
