Finally found the Spanish broadcasters Paloma and Susana's comments, but only for the SP. They are fairly quiet during the skate so viewers are able to enjoy the performance. Also I felt they were holding back a little bit on their comments, because Javi (their fellow countryman) had yet to skate. Certainly understandable.
This is an incredible 3A into the cantilever, which is an unbelievable demonstration of edges and abdominals (abdominal muscle strength). He has a great entrance into his final series of spins, which is certainly a Level 4. He is definitely a candidate for the podium. Wow! A majestic 3A, great edges in the step sequence - what a naturalness, elegance, and how he feels the music. Such beautiful moves. This will earn huge points, not only in technical but artistic. Very impressive!

B ESP comments after the SP:
I know he's a great favorite of yours.
I’m fighting back the tears a little bit. He has nerves of steel. He had some rocky practices here and didn't look great in the 6 minute warmup. But when it counted he just hung on in there – that 3A, he had to grind that out.
It's a beautiful program. Transitions in and out of every single element -- very, very difficult indeed. He went motoring into the 4F and kept the speed going coming out. Great knee bend on the way out. Rolling 3’s on the way into the 4T. It makes it so much harder and so much harder to control the rotation when you do that.

I did watch this and listened right away to the cello piece Jonathan suggested. I know TSL isn't everyone's cup of tea, but if you can wade your way through some of their goofiness, they actually have some interesting thoughts. I have some notes written down on many commentaries, and I think it's Dave who is a HUGE fan of Shoma's headless spin - which IS pretty awesome.
And it's funny how each time I watch his Worlds programs, I see more. Yesterday I noticed the way he gets this super determined look on his face in the SP, right before he jumps the 3A. He presses his lips together really hard. I imagine he's thinking "Come on, you can do it". I think I may have been screaming " Come on."

, funny thing is that I saw watching his FS live on TV that he had that kind of fiery look, with 'calculation' before his first 3A (one with violin screech when he did combo with 3T, awarded +3 GOE, if I remember correctly or close to that ), he really point that 3A place with his stare, like assessing 'will there be enough place to do it in combo?'. It was one of the few things I noticed immediately while watching Shoma's FS, along with him singling/mouthing words of Lady singing 'Piantao'

in general his expression grew so much since last season, it's fascinating to see his transformation while he's stepping on ice for his programs, because it's really like the music, steps are getting inside him deeply to produce such unique, fierce interpretation/expression, and each time I've seen his SP/FS this season, I noticed something else about them, little details in gestures, looks, body. Looking forward to see Shoma in action next week at home!

Wow, I've never noticed the above, I'll have to rewatch! And I agree, I liked Shoma well enough last season, but this year he's become really great. I loved both of his programs, and he really got into the music. I became a fan right after seeing his SP for the first time. Now, being a fan of hanyu AND Shoma AND Boyang (another awesome guy with expression who really grew on me during this season of wonders), I give some threads a wide berth. I can't see these three pitted against each other when I like them all.
