Happy you cheated Winnie! :rock: It would take too much discipline to not watch Winter! This is an amazing program already! Imagine when you see it at Worlds?! I'm sure it will have soared to new heights by that time! And he needs the PERFECT costume, whatever that might be. :scratch3:

4everchan, you need to go to Skate Canada. I hear Regina is a wild, happenin' place (?). Just think Patrick, Shoma , great pairs, Queen Anna, etc.!
 
welcome Woodorf. Coming here at the end of the day, I find your heartfelt post! After becoming enthralled by his skating, i’ve come to notice how innocent Shoma’s personality really is; whether laughing, or getting serious, dreaming, or expressing, getting strong or being thoughtful, getting older!, or even getting cautious, he’s all of it, as innocence always is. and that is so very moving. DEEPLY DEEPLY MOVING... (and also, it takes me about an hour to write 3 sentences in Japanese without kanji! so I appreciate your writing everything so descriptively in english!)

Don't worry about your English, it's good and I can feel your sincere feelings in your writing! It's lovely to read. I wholeheartedly agree with your post, Shoma is simple and honest. He is exactly like how you see. His passion can touch your heart even from behind the screen, just how amazing that is? One of many reasons why I fell hard with his Buenos Aires Hora Cero program, god knows how many times I have rewatched it!

About the things that get lost in translation, yes, it's unfortunate, I'm sure there are nuances that can only be grasped in Japanese. But we can still even feel Shoma's sincerity and innocent personality.

Anyway, welcome again! We'd love to see you post often here!
 
What a nice thing to wake up to these kind posts about Shoma. I remember when I first became a fan of Shoma, I wondered "Is anyone really that nice these days?!" The answer is yes! He really is. He is as beautiful on the inside as he is on the outside. Is he a little immature, weird, having a strange sense of humor once in a while? Yes! But I think that's what makes him so endearing. I think it was in his old Kenji interview that Kenji told him people said he was very polite. He wasn't so sure about that, but he said he really did care what people thought about him. I took that to mean that he tries to be kind and tries not to do or say anything that might offend people. I'm sure part of that is a cultural thing, but again, it is very endearing.

This photo I took of him really touched me when I looked at it later. I realized that although the two little girls had skates on, the little boy was wearing tennis shoes. You can tell by the look on Shoma's face and by the way he is holding his arm out, he was worried that the little boy might fall, because he was not wearing skates. He was really cute. Also the little kids were just babbling away to him, probably having no clue that he couldn't understand a word they were saying! https://pic.twitter.com/UGyGPFe2Iv

Well, Yuzuru skated to Bieber. And so did V/M, who are much older. Hehe.

If ShoSho is (was) an Arashi-fan he probably was thrilled to be in Aiba's show (Aiba is a member of Arashi) I can't wait to see that, it's going to be fun, I'm sure.
 
Last week, i was reading the GS thread on OGM contenders men particularly the lay out conversations with personal respect for their calculation abilities. The competitors themselves have the best calculations, as it’s their area of expertise (MAJOR expertise) right. for me, my first “lessons” on layout came from Yuzu interviews, and even now find his analyses the most sound and clear. before I go, someone get a layout app for the skating fandom!
