Hello! Checkin in from South Korea. Congrats to Shomita! I ended up seated by an exit way for the team SP so I got to see team Japan go backstage and I yelled "omedetou" to Shoma and this is him in the process of looking back and smiling and waving at me, lol.

And then on the train back to Seoul he happened to be on my train as well (though in a different car). He seemed really relaxed, playing on his phone and wearing as mask so I didn't bother him, though he probably would have been polite, lol. But safe to say, he skipped the opening ceremony.

Thank you Dani for sharing your experience! It's not every day you get to see a Prince! Great photo too. Hope you are having a wonderful time!

Thank you for your wonderful report and supports to team japan. And what shoma went back to Seoul shows he doesn't stay on athletes village. I'm relieved. The epidemic of noro virus is getting spread and I'm so scared.

 Congrats to the Team SP win. Shoma has been consistent, so I didn't worry too much about Shoma but I'm still glad that he delivered!!! Keep the momentum to the individual event! Go Shoma!!!!

This is from Icenetwork article after TE short:

- The performances of Chen and that of the skater who followed, Russian Mikhail Kolyada, were so uncharacteristically bad that they unsettled Japan's Shoma Uno, who watched both before going out as the last of 10 men in the team short program.
"I have never seen them skate so poorly before," Uno said. "I was wondering if it was too early in the morning or they were too nervous because this is a special event.
It made me doubt myself on the quad flip." -

Then better not to watch performances of other men during the competition. But after all Shoma´s TE short was a great practice for the individual event.

Hi!!! to you and thanks for the link! ^^/ Hearing such nice comments on our J-boys by Canadian commentary, esp by Kurt  always makes my day. :)

Hi to you deedee, hope all is well! Here we are again 4 years later. Yes I love Kurt's comments too. He speaks the truth!

This is what Robin Cousins who did commentary on the BBC had to say about Shoma : "The Composition of his Short Program is fantastic. He separated the 2 big jumping passes with steps and spins. Program choreographed to how the music dictated, with Quads at either end of rink and spins laid out differently."

Hi daphenaxa, do you have the link to the BBC video?

I thought we would see Shomachka today to support Keiji but he wasn't there. Probably still asleep or practicing;)
