So much geoblocking. It's so hard to find videos of the performance.

Yeah, I was hoping he'd watch the final day. Who knows where he is now? I think he wanted to drop out of the spotlight, which is a good time, since Yuzuru is now being watched by the media. Hopefully he got to go around Seoul to explore some, when he's not practicing, resting, or eating.


Edited- I'm amused at the "shoma uno" tag on Twitter. So many people (the ones who watch figure skating during the Olympics only) who were anticipating Shoma performing the team event men's FS, disappointed that it wasn't him. In different languages. Poor Keiji.
 
Oh yes, Keiji! I send the best to Keiji, good luck in the Individuals. (If he picked up at all on that "disappointment" of these twitter people, hopefully from it he gets stronger about shutting it all out in his mind at the olympics! They must shut everything out, right?)

You know, I was thinking, it’s a good time for everyone, all the competitors, and maybe even the fans! to be under the radar, or just ease up on the intensity a little. No practice clips, on ANYONE, has certainly kept me from checking! And I suddenly found that I actually spend the day concentrating on what is happening in my life, and when I sit down to an event, it’s more of an event because it’s the first time all day!

I agree biryanione. As a member of the dead banana club I will stay calm until a day before the SP starts, then my fandom
and love of the sport will kick in and my life as I know it will be put on hold. :yahoo:
 
Shoma didn´t attend the MR practice today at 9.30 local time nor PR practice yesterday. Keiji and Yuzu were there. The next one is scheduled tomorrow at 2.15-2.55 on PR. Lets see whether he appears there or will he keep practicing in privacy in some other rink. They have their own plan for him which is wise of course. Competition is about to begin, so exciting!
 
Shoma must have left Pyengchang after Men's short for Seoul. He hasnt had media disclosure since then. In Seoul, JSF found the rink to practice (Kaori also practised there), so shoma has kept practising there.
He already skated at main rink enough at practice and proved his presence at SP already. Nothing to do at very cold Pyeonchang.
What's more, Ive read shoma had no plan to have team event until yuzu decided to avoid it. He tried to prioritize individual event to stay in shape. As a result, he could do well at team event and appeal himself in the perfect way.

Anyway, he has no pressure. He said he could have achieved his performance and he would be satisfied if he could do at least the same performance as team event.
He is strong. Dont underestimate him!

GO shoma, believe in himself.

Sho's latest practice report from Jackie Wong. (Wow -- does Jackie ever sleep)...Wish this would have been on livestream. I saw a few minutes of a livestream practice that had Misha Ge and Brendan Kerry...I saw some ladies on the ice and Sho was off ice near the boards.

I’m a bit worried guys 😢😢 He’s having problems with the 4F, isn’t he? It was shaky all season long and he botched it in the Team event.

I mean landing the quads would be crucial if he wants to medal at all but also, Shoma landing the 4F somehow means extra special to me. Maybe it’s because he was the first skater to land the 4F that I’m super proud of him and I just wish he could land some beautiful 4F at the Olympics. Maybe it’s because I live in the US and just so fed up with Jonny and Tara screaming “Nathan is the first skater to land the 4F at the Olympics”. Hello, how’s about some credit for the guy who was the first skater ever to land a 4F in competition who happens to skate in this group as well.

By the way, it’s so nice to see Shoma at the practice again. Someone on Twitter suggested filing a missing person report on Shoma and I was like “yeah, it’s about time” 😭😭 God, I miss seeing him skate and I just wish he is healthy and happy. No matter what the result, clean skates from Shoma is all I ask for.

Well said. I also feel that Shomachka's 4F is special, most probably for the same reason. And I just love his 4F when he lands it.

I'm so worried about his 4F my stomach hurts now.
 
I wouldn't be too worried. The condition of his jumps vary on a daily basis [emoji16]. Tomorrow is another day. Although, my guess is he might have worked a lot on the 4T to make sure he can do his combos, and the 4F might have suffered a little. But, I'm still not that anxious about it.

Itsuki and Shoma! These two are so adorable together. Plus, Itsuki skating that fast on attack mode, more typical of a hockey player! Maybe Shoma WAS helping him out as you said, idontknow.

Honestly, I'm just happy to see him at all. He's too good at disappearing.

He looks sleepy, but what's new? [emoji23] also, not quite a fall on the 4F, more like a sit, or a ninja move save. Ha.

Based on fyshomauno's Tumblr, during the team event SP, Mihoko-sensei was surprised when "Shoma UNO" appeared on the screen (thinking he ranked 1st... But why would she be surprised by that?). He made a "No, no" gesture at her with his hand and said that's his name (not his placement, lol). The other 3 laughed (Kana and Chris and Satoko), then he pointed out his placement to Mihoko when his scores came up. Funny! I thought she'd be used to it by now. I guess it was really too early for everyone!

Edited- By the way, looks like Shoma's the only one who plans to do a 4L. Makes me wonder if 4Lz is really the hardest quad jump out there.
