For one of his programs next season, I really hope Sho does something romantic like This Town. I feel like it'd be a nice change from the usual intensity-- which I love, don't get me wrong, I just think it'd be nice to see something a little different because he can clearly pull it off.

Also, off topic, but on the topic of EX skates-- PLEASe bring back Bad Boy Good Man, it's my favorite gala he's ever skated ;_;

He said that his refusal to take the injection was the beginning of his recovery, so I guess he's just letting it heal on its own? Or maybe I'm just misunderstanding the translation, but he seems confident enough that he's making a steady recovery.

Oh I haven’t seen this interview, any link to it?

that could be really beautiful for sure! Shoma is so versatile imo, everything from the romantic and soft feel of This Town, to the epic dominance and power in Turandot, and not to mention the seductiveness of Loco :o: I feel like few skaters could pull that off as well as Shomajesty  It will be exciting to see what he will do next!

Thanks so much! It’s cute in a way that he hates needles but Shoma I hope you didn’t say that the ankle doesn’t hurt anymore just because you don’t want the injections. And please get it properly examined once you got back home.

I like what Shoma said in the interview, that he is going to use this injury experience as a strength, a power. Gaining strength from this negative experience, I think it will make him an even stronger competitor in the future.

I re-watched it too. The first time I saw it I could've sworn he was tearing up into the cantilever. During the re-watch I still think he was or just incredibly drained and fighting through the exhaustion. Shoma's heart really is made of steel. He said it wasn't but it really is. Having the ability and mental strength to fight in a war you know you wont win takes a heart made of steel.
Shoma likes anime and I do too. When he was interviewed with Yuzuru after the olympics, the interviewer said that Shoma had a steel heart because Shoma said that he didn't feel nervous or stress at the Olympics. Ever since then I've been quoting a popular, amazing anime called Full-Metal Alchemist. The main character Edward says this line at the end of the series,
"There's no such thing as a painless lesson, they just don't exist. Sacrifices are necessary. You can't gain anything without losing something first. Although if you can endure that pain and walk away from it, you'll find that you now have a heart strong enough to overcome any obstacle. A heart made fullmetal."
I just think of how much this relates to Shoma's career so far and I'm really proud of him for all he's accomplished.
Sorry for my rant and my nerdyness coming out. I was really emotional during Shoma's skate and it's been hours and I'm still thinking about it.

WineHerUp: I didn't think it was possible to love him even more than I already do.
Me too, I didn't think it was possible.:sad21:

You win all of the points for quoting Fullmetal Alchemist . I think what impresses me most about Shoma is his amazing spirit. He's truly one of the most incredible and impressive athletes in this sport. Unfortunately, people don't seem to be giving him enough credit for his accomplishments. In the past two years, he has not landed off the podium even once. Aside from Yuzu, I don't think that there's a single male skater who could add this onto their resume. I can't wait for him to come back next season, fully healed and ready to slay.

^Ditto on that FMA reference. One of my all time favorite animes!

It was really hard to watch his skate, not going to lie. Especially on the heels of his great Olympics outing which I will never forget. But if he was going to be brave enough to skate, I could be brave enough to watch. I really was impressed that no matter what he just wouldn't give up. He is made of some special stuff. Total Warrior. He made me proud. And he can be so proud that he was so integral in securing 3 spots for japan next year. I know that was very important to him. Now I just hope he can properly rest and recover.

Don't worry Arriba! Boyang has no injury according to Wei's twitter. And he himself said he was in good condition at morning practice but at the competition there was some mental difficulty (I dont remember his comment perfectly.)
Im so glad. I was worried about him.

Thank you for your support, thank you for your report! Shoma said he can hear the voice of cheer during performance, so he must have heard your support!

I watched Shoma skate his LP on live broadcast last night, and I have to say that even though I wasn't a huge fan before, I am now a convert. I know he was injured and he didn't skate his best, but there was something really mesmerising about the way he was able to give it his all, and to remain committed to the performance even when picking himself up after every fall. And somehow, watching live broadcast made me appreciate his skating skills and musicality more than watching youtube videos after the competition ended did. So I guess I am now officially a huge Shoma fan!!

Am excited to see him next season with new programs when he's all recharged and injury-free :hap10: Now time to go watch all of his exhibition skates - am a bit disappointed that I've managed to miss out on such a lovely skater until now.

strongly hoping for This Town! I think it's likely since he performed See You Again at the Olympics but he might betray me and perform See You Again here too. This Town is just one of the programs that I can watch over and over again, so I'd be thrilled :)

Especially the "butterflies" parts and the spread eagles where he has this sort of dreaming look. I am wondering if Calvin will make an appearance at the gala.

such a beautiful performance! was definitely holding my breath for every jump but of course he did them flawlessly :)

hopefully we can all let out a big sigh of relief now that this is over and I hope he can let out one too knowing he did his very best with the circumstances!

Great performance of "See You Again" all jumps were good, maybe his foot really is getting better, but he should still get it checked out.

By the way, who thinks that Shoma, Nathan and Mikhail coordinated outfits for the Gala? They each wore black jeans and white shirts.

I wondered right away what happened to the I-can't-breathe-they're-so-tight white pants. I prefer This Town, but his See You Again is nice too. It was really funny at the end when the announcer was calling out the names of the skaters who were supposedly skating out. Bradie Tennell came out, and he said the name of a pair! Shoma came out and the guy didn't even say his name. I could see Zachary Donahue from the U.S. was joking with him about it. I wonder if they had the infamous banquet last night or if they'll have it tonight. They're probably all so tired. Sho would probably rather order room service and get yakiniku.

Maybe he didn't fit in to them anymore... :o::slink:

Actually he did announce Shoma. He announced everyone out of order and the skaters were just coming out onto the ice. He was announcing them with nicknames corresponding to their programs. With Wakaba he said, "hallelujah, Wakaba Higuchi", "Mr. Quad, Nathen Chen", "the Pop Star, Misha Ge", "The Star, Shoma Uno":2thumbs:
He said more that I can't remember now, it was really funny. I liked this Gala.

I don't think Calvin made an appearance.:disapp: Mr. Tummy sure did.;)
