Thank you so much for sharing.:thank:

"This is the essence of Shoma Uno that I see, that I feel and that I will never forget. This is my Shoma Uno—the one I love, the one I admire, the one I re-watch and the one to whom my thoughts will always come back: 'over and over the only truth, everything comes back to you' "

This part is just beautiful and perfect.

Yeah it looks like a blast.

Shoma's face so funny, when Alina put her arm over his shoulder....
First time i seen a picture of him so close to a female that's not his coach.

Shoma's been growing up with mainly girls around in the rink and has girls as friends, too. He's also had Marin Honda sit on his thigh. More than female, I think it's just general japanese way of not being touchy-feely with other people.

I love Shoma and Tarah’s interaction he looks so comfy with her!

And Hayashi, I went through the same thing as you when I first getting to know Shoma but everyone here has been so supportive and showed me that most of the thing the haters said are just ridiculous. As an example Toyota doesn’t just sponsor Shoma they also sponsor Nathan and Ashley so it is ridiculous to say Toyota paid off judges for Shoma when Nathan has the same chance of winning a medal. And as for the rink, the JSF might have provide it for him but he wasn’t the only one using it and it was at the time when he started going to competition as far as one week before to tackle his jetlag problem. A lot of skating federation does this for their skaters. During the olympic JSF also provide a rink in Seoul for all the Japanese skaters to practice. But it’s never just exclusive for the japanese team let alone one skater. Along the way you will see that the haters remarks are just laughable. The important thing is almost all expert in figure skating love Shoma and acknowledge his talent and that he is special so don’t let random people on youtube and tumblr get into your head and don’t waste your energy on them.

Thank you for the link. I read it once, I will do it again, is a really fascinating analysis!
Was nice to remember this part of the song right now:
'over and over the only truth, everything comes back to you'
Thank you again for your hardwork

https://twitter.com/nobutaro1001/status/980372312686915584?s=21 between this and the video from Plushenko, I'm completely melting! Shoma is looking very smiley and starry eyed these days <3

Is true, is nice to see him so smiley! I'm glad, hope it means he is healing after WC

Don’t worry, thankfully Shoma doesn’t really go to social media to read nasty comments. My suggestion is to learn more about the rules of figure skating and watch Shoma’s program starting from his junior year so you can see yourself what are Shoma’s strengths and weakness. This FF is a safe place for us to discuss even his shortcomings so if you’re ever not sure about anything feel free to post and ask others here.

I am actually a Nathan superfan, but Shoma is really growing on me! I don't see why in order to like one skater, we have to hate on another.
Hope it is ok I post here lol

I don't think Shoma will read the comments, but if they grow in number they will build a bad reputation for the ones who still don't know who he is.
I already searched and watch Shoma's programs since he was little, maybe not all but almost. I'm learning the rules, I'm still working on it, and thank you for the offer because I would probably need to ask something eventually. I know Shoma has strengths and weakness and fortunately he knows them.

Of course it is ok! Nathan is well liked by this Shoma fan and when I visit Nathan's FF I feel very welcome!
We have our favorites but we are all skating fans and for me I like other skaters too.

Of course oatmella, welcome!
Shoma said of Nathan that despite competing against each other, when he watches Nathan he can't stop himself from rooting for Nathan.

Thanks everyone for being welcoming :) - and it seems that Nathan and Shoma have a friendly (and cute) relationship.
very sweet of Shoma to say that about Nathan!

This is so true! I know a six yr old Japanese girl, and I have learned not to suddenly hug her and not to kiss her because she tenses up and braces for it!
I think it is just a different "language" of touch. Because if I don't reach to her and make her uncomfortable, she comes up to me and buries her face and even body against me! (Yes I play with her, we play piano together.)

I'm from the US so I'd say we're kind of middle of the road for contact vs. non-contact cultures. I myself will hug people, but rarely does it last long and it's not like a bear hug. It's not that I'm not friendly or outgoing or anything, I'm just not much of a hugger. But when I see Japanese friends that I haven't seen for a while they don't hesitate to hug me. So I think they accept it as something they can do with others even if they don't do it amongst themselves much.

Hello Shoma fans,

Just a reminder that Fan fests are places where positive posts about skaters are encouraged and very welcome. However, it is important not to be negative and to stay on topic. This fan fest is about 2018 Olympic Silver Medallist Shoma Uno. This is your place to gush about him without having to deal with naysayers like on the other parts of the board. That is what Fan fests are for. If you would like to debate something about Shoma or discuss other skaters compared to him, the correct forum for such would be The Edge. Also, conversations about skaters' private lives should be limited to information that they themselves choose to discuss publicly.

If your post has disappeared it is either because it does not conform to fanfest guidelines or it quoted a post that does not conform to the guidelines.

Please remember that is it always better to report than to respond if you feel that a post violates the rules.

Thank you
