Well, this is getting out of topic very quickly. Uhm, Shoma....I was sick for a few days, and feeling really depressed. But looking at his pictures with his fans at PIW made me happy again. He's sunshine!

Please take care and get well soon!

Here's a beautiful smile for you to feel better:

By the way, I think the yellow Turandot costume looks really pretty in all of these pictures. I know it's an issue for many and I wasn't a fan of it either but in these pics you can really appreciate all its beauty, imo.

Possible, although I think he's more of a Gryffindor (brave warrior even with difficult circumstances) or a Slytherin ("subtly ambitious" per Lambiel; also desires "world domination" while keiji wanted "world peace"). [emoji28]

I believe this was a banner (on which Keiji and Shoma wrote together) writing, world peace-world dominate, as in “world peace dominate world”. (PEACE dominating asserting in the world) It was a day (or day after) war-mongering international headlines. I don’t think it was even at a skating function but I no longer remember. (late last summer or maybe early autumn)

I don't know, the whole aloofness (https://i.pinimg.com/originals/4e/a6/38/4ea6386c0dfd9ce9e7d844b8d2454bb6.jpg) + loyalty to team Japan + kindness towards his fans makes me more think of Hufflepuff (which is the house for the really kind people, right ?) but of course, he is also very brave and ambitious ^^ (where does this Lambiel's citation come from ?) He should do the Pottermore test

Hufflepuff, yes I think they were! I think you hit the nail on Shoma’s facial expression So gently pretending not to understand.

Crap translation of Lambiel's part:
Lambiel was interviewed in the skating class of Absolute skating, when he answered what are his favourite male skaters, he mentioned several names and Shoma.
Lambiel only added comments to Shoma: "I like Shoma's spirit. He is really really ambitious but never show it. Then, he is/ looks really really calm."
"しょうまのスピリッツが好きだ。とても野心があるのに、それを表面には見せない。そして、とても落ち着いている"

How interesting…like his name explained by nerolline. Dignified so, I find.

I thought so as well!

MaiKatze, I hope you are feeling better now and get well soon! Looking at Shoma's pic should help ^^

Well, a week ago I was in a "Shoma-loss" mood: "xx loss" is a Japanese vocab to describe you are down as you miss sth that was (regularly) available (e.g. after the final episode of a TV drama series). However these 2 days Shoma's news/ twits are "activated" again and I am too happy to see Shoma's pic at PIW.

Just some comment in point form hehe:
- happy to "observe" Shoma's nice personality during the "fureai" (fan greeting time?) in PIW: Shoma looked at the fans and shook hands etc.
- a fans said she has wrote to Shoma, saying "she cannot get the tickets to FS competition so could Shoma wear his costumes in ice shows, that she may probably go there?" it seems that Shoma really responded to fans' request
- Shoma made good use of his upper body to hold the presents from fans as well: arms/ hands/ shoulders/ neck/ face lol
- pic taken were sooooo nice
- Shoma always being himself when answering questions from fans hahahaha
- excited for his new EX program, jazz is sth new for Shoma and I am sure he'll able to "feel" the song and polish his program in the future; for another song (Great spirit), I really like uptempo songs and I think Shoma will look extremely cool...I am happy Shoma's able explore to different music genre and learn choreography that he wasn't get used to. Btw I am now brainwashing myself with the song hahaha

Please take care and get well soon!

I've been thinking the same thing about the yellow costume! I feel like the lighting at 4CC must have been weird, because the color did look slightly mustardy there, but he looks soo good in all of these pictures. The detailing on it is just gorgeous https://twitter.com/0923MEME/status/991984623964975104

plus I just prefer Shoma's messy hair over the slicked back style like he had at 4CC :P

love the music for the 2nd ex! reminds me of legends

He's definitely a Slytherin!! The man just flashes a smile and we're all obeying his orders :agree2: :agree2: :agree2:

The song "Ain't no sunshine" is playing around in my head. When it's off-season and we don't hear a thing it's so tough to bear. Winter is slowly becoming my favourite season, just because of figure skating. If Shoma really passes FaoI and The Ice we have almost two months of not seeing him (if he doesn't go to My Kind of Town...;)) But, well, tomorrow one more PIW and then it's basketball time. Let's go Tokyo!

speaking about the basketball thingy, do we know if there is a way to watch it?? if not, can fans take pics and film or is it not allowed like in figure skating in Japan?

In my opinion the easiest part of learning japanese is studying the Hiragana. Then comes Katakana.

I was only in the class for 4 weeks. I did really well in that time and mainly was working on vocabulary and hiragana, but I go out of town a lot, and I realized it was going to be difficult to keep up. It was a college summer school class for credit and moved really quickly. We also have places that teach personal enrichment non-credit type courses, which probably would have been a better choice for me. I was sad when I dropped the class, but it was the right decision. Unfortunately, now I would probably only be able to ask the Prince what time it is!!!!

The pronunciation of Kanji can be "onyomi or kunyomi. The former is the pronunciation from (original) Japanese while the later is from Chinese (not Mandarin but closer to Cantonese or other languages in southern China)

When I input "shoma" and tried to convert it to kanji, 昌磨 didnt' come up in the first page so this combination is not too common in Japanese name?
(If you input "daisuke", there are many possibilities but "大輔" is a very common one)
as a result I either i) use hinagara ii) use Chinese input iii) type "masa" for 昌 then "migaki" for 磨

and yes, the meaning of "昌" and "磨" are really good (especially "昌", the hanja of chang in "Pyeongchang" is 昌 ^^)

I like the spanish meaning of Uno too :-)

Oh, yes! :agree2:
I thought that his parents had seriously thoughts and carefully chosen "昌""磨" from so many kanji. I feel their deep love for Shoma.

Like figure skating, basketball games is not broadcast on terrestrial television in Japan. It is broadcasted in SKY PerfecTV or DAZN. However, contract is necessary for viewing (DAZN is being broadcast worldwide, so there is a possibility that you can watch it in your country). There are few figure skater fans in Japan contracting with DAZN, but I think that there are many fans contracting with SKY PerfecTV. I have to wait for their informations, Japanese news programs and news web site update.
