Shoma Uno: 2014-2024

Hi. I'm in the Shoma phase of "catching up with figure skating". Currently watching some of his junior programs and he is seriously freakin adorable, which is almost jarring considering how mature his skating was. Love his beautiful sweeping edges and how expressive his body movements are. The intensity of his skating is especially interesting in contrast to his constantly dazed demeanor when he's not performing.

Lol, love seeing pictures of Hanyu and Uno next to each other as juniors. Can't believe they were only 3 years apart - it looks like Yuzu is walking a toddler - not just the height difference but the face too. But now that they're in their 20's they look the same age!

eta: I thought it was kind of weird that they didn't include Shoma in more of the post Olympics celebrations but I suppose Shoma had other things to do or maybe he just doesn't like the hoopla

Hey everyone! I've been lurking on this thread since after the Olympics, but I've been a fan of Shoma's since the 2016 GPF. I'm really excited about all the Shoma content we're getting this off-season! I'm also planning on trying to see Shoma in person at either Skate Canada or Four Continents.

I was really excited to find such a positive community of people cheering for the Prince, and I'm glad to be one of them.

Welcomeee! I also joined not too long ago. Best decision 😃

Love this photo of Shoma and Miki. That sunflower crown is gorgeous. Somehow, I can picture Shomita with a sunflower crown. Miki, let him try it on please!

Could this possibly be a new trend?! :laugh2: https://twitter.com/89hkD6dOBNxc7Tl/status/1000271691757404161

Sunflowers are Miki's signature flowers, so the fans usually make a sunflower crown for her. She even named her daughter 'Himawari' (Sunflower)! Ain't that cute?

Welcome arineko and Old Cat Lady!

I love Shoma's expression at the end of his FS in the 2016 GPF. With the light blue Shoma Uno poster in the background it really goes well :) Hope you get the chance to see him in person soon!

It even has his necklace! :)

Speaking of merch, has anyone ever purchased items through amazon.co.jp or cdjapan? I was considering buying Shoma Uno, A New Hero (mook) but can't seem to find it via the usual online channels I use.

I usually buy CDs and DVDs from amazon.co.jp (the highest discount for presale ones), and it seems that you can get Shoma's photo book there too:
https://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product...c-f1ee-4418-98a4-c2d0a69c6cb8&pf_rd_i=desktop

Btw, my orders at amazon jp will be shipped to a Japan address (a logistic centre) then further send to me, cox sometimes buying sth online from jp websites can be shipped to domestic address only.

Yes, including the mook. No complaints about the service. I am using an address in continental Europe.

Collaboration: "Nessun Dorma"-> Red Bulls
[emoji39] Well, I guess that explains why he likes Turandot so much. He can relate. No wonder he's always sleepy. Stop chugging down the Red Bulls, Shoma!!

That would be a fun ad though. Unfortunately, I think it's too subtle for the general public. [emoji22]

Welcome to the Shoma fanfest, arineko and Old Cat Lady!! I'm a little amused that you both have cat/neko to your names! Have fun!

One time I bought Sho calendars from Amazon Japan. The other time I bought the Kiss and Cry magazine. Both arrived very fast and in great condition. The $10 shipping charge bugged me, but it is what it is. No problems whatsoever though. Items were shipped to my U.S. address.

Great, thanks! About the shipping - if you buy multiple items in one order, does each item get charged for shipping separately? Also it seems to offer me several shipping choices :confused2: so I guess I'll just go for whatever seems reasonable (don't mind waiting for it)!

Not sure on the multiple items in one order thing. If I'm remembering correctly, my items came by DHL. I picked the cheapest service.

I bought the calender from Amazon Japan. At first it offered a lot of shipping options but then when I filled my address (Europe) it only offered one option and it was by DHL. If I remember correctly the shipping price did go up if I added items. Very fast and easy delivery.

Belated welcome to you and all the other new Shomajesty's subjects! :hap10:

I've bought japanese magazines and CDs from CDJapan, if you buy several items that are available at the same time they will send them together, you have several options for shipping, with express and insured being the most expensive, but unnecessary imho. You can use paypal, which is pretty easy. A magazine I bought was sent in bubble-wrap and a package. Pretty good.
