LOVE this photo! And he really is / was in Montreal! If only someone could tell us if he is still there, and (more importantly!) what was he doing and what is the new FS?! Gee, that's not asking too much, is it? :drama:

ETA -- Finally, the hair looks better! :hpull:

That's a great photo and his hair looks super! It says that this week they shared the ice with him so maybe he'll spend the next two weeks in Chicago. Arriba, you need to turn on your Shoma radar!!! :hap36: I also want to know about his FS!

Thanks idontknow for sharing the pic!

Thanks! I love the jacket! Here are Shoma's purple winter and bananadot costumes with autographed skates, olympic outfit on display:

The window dresser has an eye for detail - just look at the direction of Soohorang ;)

As with many other Japanese men, SA was very good to Shoma. Silver in Milwaukee at SA 2015 and he wowed the crowd with his Loco program in Chicago at SA 2016. Wish we could see him here again, although it doesn't seem too likely.

Figure Skating often works in cycles. There was an era when the U.S. men played no big parts, and the japanese men often went to Skate America. Since 2005 they won the event 9 times! The japanese men are still on top of the World, but with Nathan and Vincent being pretty young, very succesful and at the start of their careers, I think unfortunately for the U.S. fans of Shoma, this could be it for many years. The U.S. fed will want to have them at their home event and no spoilers. I doubt Shoma will go again in the near future. Also NHK is now a thing. The Canadian men are in some sort of limbo state at the moment, so if you're a top contender and you want to compete in North America you would probably choose Skate Canada now. Shoma also went to SC when Patrick was still there, though. A hope (?) remains that both or one of Shoma or Nathan doesn't make the podium at Worlds, then a little chance might remain. I'm pretty sure Shoma will go to 4CC though, and that's in the U.S. this season, so perhaps another chance to see him, if travel to another country is not possible.

I'd rather go to NHK. Are tickets out already? I've been to Hiroshima, it's a beautiful city and I'd like to return. Don't tempt me skating gods, I don't have the means.....I guess it'll be hard to get tickets in Japan. And they're going to be expensive.

--But a LOT of people are trading their event tickets right now. You can probably get one easier than usual. ;) It might be once in a lifetime for NHK tickets.
Edit: sorry Skate Canada tickets.

From the comment section of that fb photo:
‘He is doing great! Working with Marie-France and Romain on something really nice for next season! It’s already great so for his fist competition it’s going to be super super sharp’

Also he is still there today according to them.

Seems several tickets for Skate Canada are for sale if anybody interested: https://twitter.com/SkatingPooh/status/1012813710799192064

Some tickets are listed here and it sounds like people are willing to sell for a discount. Some of the tickets are really close to the ice. https://www.goldenskate.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?115-Figure-Skating-For-Sale

:jaw: Working with Marie-France and Romain?! Be still my heart! OMG, can't wait to see it! :hb: :points:

I am hoping for Shomita's best performances in his GP assignments.
And the selfish me wants him and Yuzu at the podium in GP final.

If you go, I have a simple request that you eat some Okonomiyaki for me. Hiroshima does it the best (sorry, Osaka). It's been almost 10 years since I've been there but it's my favorite food ever!

Hiroshima's okonomiyaki is great :-) and it has noodle in it (osaka one doesn't), oyster is also delicious!
btw, okonomiyaki is doable at home so you may try to make some yourself!

While I'm really tempted, making such a long distance trip from Germany to see Shoma only is a huge risk for me. Ice is slippery and this isn't like Worlds. If I go I remember the okonomiyaki though, thanks for the tip!

I wonder how long he will be in Montreal before going to Glacier

I can't wait to hear Shoma's thoughts about Dai returning to competition. I'm sure he's excited to see his idol make such a return!

Yeah, I tried making it at home. I bought the special mayo and sauce and everything. It didn't go over well :noshake::noshake::noshake: I might try it again but I'm not too hopeful.

Justyna and Jeremie on facebook said they would let us know if Shoma is still in Montreal tomorrow (Monday)
