Can't catch what Alex says--sounds more like he's speaking some European language  (I'm not a native English speaker)

BUT OMG RIPPON!!!! HE DID RIPPON JUMP! I have never seen him do tano or rippon jump before! And it looks like he's trying to get it consistent! Wonderful, Shomachka!

More than 40 jumps in an hour

Don't get too excited about the rippons or tanos. :laugh2: Alex was emphasizing something about posture or body position and just as a drill had him put his arms overhead like that. He actually looked pretty good the few times he did it...Regarding what Alex said - pretty sure Sho's arm was hurting him a little bit. Sounded like "See how you can take out ?the body / take off? the body with one arm." I hear "one arm" for sure. They were both still smiling, so that's always a good thing!

^^^He for sure had him doing something where he was only using one arm. Honestly, he has more drills for whatever problem people are encountering...Just yesterday I saw him working with a young lady who came to him awhile ago. She was having SO much trouble with her 2A. Nowadays, she does a gorgeous 2A. They fixed her problems within a couple weeks. Pretty cool stuff.

Love That

I wish Shoma schedule was a little less busy so he could spend a little more time with Alex.

Thanks again for all the updates Arriba!

Rippon or no rippon I'm happy to see him trying new things and figuring out way to get better jumping posture. And I think seeing how intense the training is, one week is enough, overtraining can lead to injury and we certainly don't want that this season.

Thanks for your view gftn

Ah I did not think of that. You have a good point.

Shomita himself said he can’t wait to go home  I don’t know how much longer he can take it...I mean 40 jumps in an hour??
I feel bad for laughing at his suffering but this is so funny: https://twitter.com/mtnharuki/status/1028980826782892032?s=20

Alex's "gesture" in the cartoon above comes from: https://twitter.com/flexibleshoom/status/1028829399024422912

A nice fan consolidated all media: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C8Au1S7mJAU
Two more tv programmes were included:
"Sukkiri!" (around 4'06"): Shoma skating with his new jacket <- I like the red/ black colour, it suits Shoma!
"N Star" (around 5"45'): This one showed more Shoma falling :/ and Alex. Alex: "Speed it up!!" (I believe it's easier to hear what Alex said for this clip)

The parts broadcast by each tv channels were similar but not the same :P well, I was trying to learn Nagoya dialect from Shoma :P

I remember the first time Shoma came to Chicago in 2016, they showed a clip of him where he said it was only the third day and he was exhausted! I guess things haven't changed much. Lots and lots of jumps, integrating the jumps into the program. This is hard work! I could watch for hours! I stopped taking photos, since the Glacier photos and videos are 10 times better than anything I would ever be able to take. It's more fun to just "drink in" the skating.

The SP is looking brilliant, and the FS is coming along nicely. I'm going to be really interested to see how the 30 seconds less will affect the men this season. I fear that it will give things a rushed quality, but I guess we'll see!

That red/black Toyota outfit looked terrific on him!

I finally got around to watching The Ice all the way through (the one where he debuted his new programs), and they were saying that he has "an adult sexiness" that he didn't before. Ooh la la!

What a wonderful idea. If you haven't seen the Twitter account, @_NiceSkating is posting only positive tweets from people about their favorite skaters. Such a relief from the cesspool of toxicity one can usually find on Twitter. I see some very kind remarks about our Shomita. :agree:

They're my new favorite FS account to follow! For anyone who has yet to check out their Twitter account, heres some very sweet comments about our little Prince:

I saw the last one, but not the others. All so true!! [emoji8][emoji7] So nice that people think so well of him. Thanks for sharing!!

Well, it's true. 🤣 Or more accurately, it's been coming on for the past two seasons (there are pictures of him skating to This Town and See you again that are proof enough), but it seems to be even more apparent now. With his Time After Time and the SP programs especially, and it's also quite obvious in his short dance with Alina. He's also more manly in his physique and just the overall vibe now. I'm sure that contributes to the "sexiness". Plus he's more confident and self-assured!! Confidence is always sexy.

Oops, this became a little long, just to explain Shoma being more sexy or sensual now. [emoji23]

Don't worry, I've had some inappropriate thoughts a year ago already (I'm just a bit over the age of girls who write cringy fanfictions on Tumblr, so forgive me). I have to admit, I watched his short on The ICE and I really love it! It finally seems like a step in right direction in regards to some originality, even though the general Shoma movements that are often visible in his programs are still there. I feel like it's not just Shoma skating, I feel like he is finally playing a character or rather interpreting the music. Wasn't a big fan of his FS so far, mainly because I'm starting to dislike Moonlight Sonata quite a lot, and it's a rather safe bet, but obiously it's his comfort zone that he can pull off.
