Here's the full translation of Shoma's interview with Shizuka:

Apparently, Shoko was his idea??? LOL it's really nice to see how much confidence he's gained this season.
Oh my gosh, what a fun and informative interview! Thank you for sharing, WineHerUp and to redgreen for the translation!

It's a weird thing, but I feel so proud of him. He's had to take a lot of responsibility this past season, first as Japan's front man through most of the season, and now even in the ice shows. He's a lot more popular now and has a lot of expectations on him, but I'm glad he's confidently taking on that responsibility. To even suggest to do cross dressing... that's not something he would have done before, I don't think! Three years ago he couldn't even do the cantilever on land for Nobunari, now he just casually suggests that he crossdress. Good job, Shoma! [emoji16]

Notice also his interactions with skaters who are around his age or younger. They're so comfortable with him that they have no qualms telling him repeating Luigi would be boring. (Thank you, Kazuki, Kaori, and Marin!!) [emoji1] They even helped him with the makeup! I wonder whose bag/purse he was carrying around as Shoko-chan?

That whole bit about Stephane is revealing. That Shoma didn't practice Winter until he got to the shows' practices, but he had absorbed the music so much after skating it for a year, that he had skated to every beat without hesitation. I never would have guessed he was nervous! Also Stephane being so assured of Shoma's ability that he didn't ask him what direction of twizzles he preferred. The collaboration turned out beautifully. I'm glad he wants to do more of them. (By the way, I'm amused by Stephane's procrastination, to not even be dressed in his costume 3 minutes before the performance, and to put on his boots just before he goes on the ice. Highly relatable.)

His reaction to Daisuke's comeback is completely understandable too. I can't wait to see him holding up the pink towel and cheering him on. I would think Shoma would cause quite a stir being in the audience (but he'll probably be surrounded by the other skaters too). That would be fun to watch.

I'm amused by the whole gaming bit and the comparison with jumps. All in all, a really good interview. His best interviews are really when he's talking to other skaters. (Get the hint, Japan media!)

You're welcome! Our shy Shoma has become a confident young man and it's honestly the best transformation. In the past he seemed content with being eclipsed by Yuzuru, but now he has fully embraced his status as one of Japan's aces. He seems more aware of his own impact on Japanese figure skating after the crazy Olympic season.

Ah that interview is awesome and hilarious. It was such a fun read. Shoma statements about the collaboration was such a good read. And he agreed with me that he did too many ice shows last year. I agree that his interviews with skaters are the best. We always get more content.

Who would have thought he’d end up on the cover of a fashion magazine?

Very rare TV broadcast of Sho performance during Novice years

Aichi Prefectural Junior competition Kiss and Cry where he he succeeded on 3Los and won gold I think...

In the previous year Shoma won Gold as Novice Nationals and Bronze in Japan Junior Nationals with this program

I wonder what he’s thinking when seeing that cover. I involuntarily let out a loud aww at the end, so cute...sorry, sorry I meant kakkoii I swear

I find the second video so funny. It's like he's lifting the poster next to his face saying: See, that's me :) He seems somewhat surprised that there's a HUGE poster of his face. Or maybe he just found it funny because it was the semi-old face. Who knows? Wouldn't I like to know.

I think that the lady told him "Look here" but I like your version more  Where did they get that huge poster anyway? I need to know for...reasons

Some of these older videos of him really amaze me. That Riverdance program is quite an ambitious program for a 12 year old! I think Kazuki is doing Riverdance this year, right?. Maybe Sho can give him some pointers! Thx for posting. So glad there is a record of some of his old, old stuff! I would give anything to see the web site his parents used to maintain for him! Did anyone ever see it?

While searching for something else, I saw this Friends Plus 2015. His old face looks so pudgy, and he's having a harder time speaking. Dead giveaway that it's an old video when you see the Phiten necklace!

Yes Kazuki’s LP this season is Riverdance and most likely checked out Shoma’s performance.

We Shoma fans are very lucky in that Shoma skates in Nagoya, one of the skating Mecca’s in Japan, and he has local TV footage from a very young age.

I have never seen the website but I suspect some of the videos are uploaded on YouTube. Like the very early ones in the playlist below.

I also suspect the owner of “01 shenlong“ and “02 shenlong” account has access to footage and photos taken by Shoma’s family as well as the Team.

Like this footage which is probably taken from backstage..

This is a treasure trove of videos! Thx for posting. I've probably seen bits and pieces of the old videos, but I have to watch the complete ones. I've always wondered who shenlong is and thought that it was interesting that the person's avatar is Coach Yamada!

I’ve often wondered who shenlong is too (has a blog too), the profile indicates Chukyo University but you never know.
