Congrats to our back to back Skate Canada gold medalist!! Keep the golds coming :yahoo::hap93:

I can't describe how happy I am for him, especially after all that happened, I was so nervous :drama:

He really can't do triples, can he? He wasn't joking. Maybe next time he'll have only quads

When his FS finally ended I was able to breathe, it was not perfect, but it was wonderful, impressive, a beautiful program, very proud of our prince.
At the medal ceremony he looked so happy and relaxed.

Congratulations Shoma!

I love how he picks himself up from a fall, he really looks tired but what a fighter. You deserve the win.

Everything even his falls are dramatic. I love it!

Wow! I woke up and checked the result and saw the video.
Yeah, he is a fighter!
Im looking forward to seeing this program getting matured. It is only the beginning of this season!

And I love this new costume. It looks like a lake at night, sparkling starts and moon light.

Shoma, that was amazing! Congrats and thank you for your hard work and beautiful programs. Really appreciate the work you and your team are doing! :thank:

Also I was very relieved about the happy end of the tough competition. No injury from the fall and a stunning, serene Moonlight Sonata!

I wonder what kind of a change is happening in his mindset. Like many said he looked there very serious. Just hope he could keep on skating for himself, with good energy and have fun on the ice. It worked very well for him in the past but on the other hand things change as time goes on, he is growing and his life has changed after OG as he is getting more attention and probably he“s having more obligations too than before. I also wonder was it him who wanted to have new type of costumes of more simple and tranquil style.

This free is my favorite program of his EVER. I have never disliked or even been "meh" about anything he has done, but this transported me to another place, maybe for the first time this season, and it wasn't even perfect. CANNOT WAIT to see where this goes later in the season. Congrats tiny sleepyhead!

he is so regal. that free skate was just breathtaking. that moment in the step sequence where he does his inabauer with the arm snap right on the music is SO AMAZING

Wow that free skate was mesmerising . I am somewhat biased , but his posture , musicality and sheer skating skills are surely a few notches ahead of everyone else (apart from Hanyu alone). Also , I am nonplussed at the criminally low PCS score!. The fact they handed out a 90 PCS to Chen last week just shows how incongruent and frankly incompetent the judging seems to be . The ISU really needs to tackle this issue definitively before the major competitions down the line.

PCS is capped at 9.5 and 9 max if there is a fall. Shoma had 2 falls, Nathan didnt fall

^^^Finally got to see Time After Time live. Love the jazzy vibe and subtleness of that program. Oh, the cantilever. I never thought I would miss the cantilever! Welcome back! Haven't seen back flips done for a while either. It was a great moment when Elladj and Keegan did back flips in unison. The audience went bananas! Looks like the after-gala shenanigans were fun. I didn't stay to watch. Shoma got lifted by the other gold medalists?! Ok, I have to see that. Ok, saw it, but we need the view from the front. Must be really funny. It's not easy lifting a bulldozer. Must have been Morgan Cipres and Zachary Donahue who did the lifting!!!

I was so busy posting all over the place, that I don't even remember if I ever officially said CONGRATULATIONS SHOMITA ON YOUR 2ND SK CAN GOLD!!!!

They have already announced the city for next year's Sk Can. I immediately found myself wondering if Sho will get that again as a GP assignment. It's a LITTLE too early to be thinking about it, I guess! It's going to be in Kelowna, British Columbia for anyone who is interested.

^^^ ā€œAnd we’re lucky to be loving you, Shomaā€ awwww that’s so sweet :luv17: the B.ESP uncles are always the best

I missed the cantilever so much! and what a beauty it was tonight

The iconic lift: https://twitter.com/tegomass/status/1056650602095079424?s=20
I love how he’s just hanging instead of posing, that’s our Shoma

LOL Sho looked like he was catching a brief nap during that lift.

I have to apologize for being so silent these days and for leaving my patients untreated. There are several reasons for that.
First, I myself was struggling with a very serious case of Shomatitis this weekend. I am still recovering from that.
Second, there was a huge influx of newcomers to the dead banana ShoSPAtal all over the world, so I had to take care of new patients.
And third, I am applying for a several-million-euro research grant for investigating the deeper causes of Shomatitis. There seem to be so many! His kakkoiiness, sexiness, skating skills, cantilever, spins, musicality, expressivity, his programs, his ... Argh! So many. We need to investigate this deeper, so I am trying to hire a new team which will spend time and money just watching Sho skate, LOL.

I want to add two things. 1) It's incredible how Shoma matured so much during this one off-season! He's totally different now. 2) His Moonlight Shomata has conquered my heart. Initially, I was pretty skeptical about this program, but now... They made such a huge step forward, it's incredible. His movements look so sharp now! I fell in love with this program, it's pretty unique -- not only for him, but in general.
And let me just conclude by saying how much I love him.
(I think I need to take my pills again. Shomatitis strikes back.)

In case anyone was interested, here's my 1080p fancam of his SCI SP Thursday afternoon practice (sorry for the wait, but the competition and the crazy-long commute left me exhausted each night)---I sat in the second row from the boards: https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6wbq0u
