Sigi Heinrich: The last point is set by...haha..in his nice way, Shoma Uno, he always has this....as a fifteen year old he did Japanese Nationals already, he was ninth immediately, I believe..then eleventh. And then he slowly, but steadily worked his way up to the podium. This here at NHK Trophy, was his eighth Grand Prix event. Five times he came in first. He was second thrice.
He is a bit like a figure skating child prodigy.
Yes, he really can do everything, on ice.
Hendryk Schamberger: Yes, yes. He is an all-rounder for real. He is showing another side of himself here, that we normally don't see in the usual competition setting.
S: Unfortunately. What's still missing for him, well, he is 20, will become 21 in this year, is of course, a big title. Grand Prix Final or World Championships, he never made it to the number one position, because there was always another there, and if he came from Japan as well, like Hanyu, who was one step ahead.
H: Yes.
S: Nevertheless he does enrich, with his way, the figure skating events for the men, in a not insignificant dimension. So, I notice it's always the same figures that leaves the crowd in a storm of excitement.
H: He, Yes.
S: A blur of colour, more than just a blur of colour in this scene, Shoma Uno.
Hehehe. That really does suit him well!
Yes, another additional encore, this has to happen. From him, in any event!
Well, there will be another big fight with Hanyu in this season.
H: Well, yeah, the question is, will he be able to come out as the winner this time?
S: Both of them have done plenty of competitions in those last couple of years, and their programs are getting more challenging each time, his', and those of Hanyu as well.
