Great photos from BEHIND. Love the name of that company! :laugh2: looks like he could really use some lip balm.

It has been three years to the day since Shoma's victory at Four Continents 2019...

It didn't seem like he would win, but somehow, through the sheer force of his will, he won the most important title of his life and even broke a world record!

I was there that night.
The photos I took of the medal ceremony and the moments afterwards still mean a lot to me.

None of us could have imagined the trials and tribulations he would face in the coming years. But Shoma has kept rising to the occasion. With Stephane by his side, he has come back stronger than ever!

It will still be the 9th in North America when Shoma performs tonight.

I hope Shoma shows us how much he has grown as a performer, as a competitor, and as a person since then.

Skate well! 頑張れ!

Me too, and I remember absolutely SAVORING his victory. When I think of that night, I think if anyone had told us that it would be close to 3 years before we could see him again (at Sk Amer), I don't think any of us would have believed it. Those photos of him with Coach Fluffy seemed so bittersweet after the tough season he had. So glad he's in a much better place now.

I got my wish! Our Prince is on the podium!!!!! :yahoo::hb::party2: And no he didn't lose the silver, he WON the bronze. :thank: Sho for all your hard work! Not a bad haul to be going home with two medals, knowing that he did a wonderful performance for the team too! Every skate is a gift to cherish!!! 💜♥️💚💛🤎

Adding -- Just read something in the Competition thread that made me happy -- Shoma is the JPN figure skater with the most Oly medals; 2 individual and 1 team! Go Shooms!

It's nice that Shoma won the bronze, but I'm honestly rather gutted to see the less than perfect performance...

Did I do enough as a fan to support him? Was it really all worth it? Questions like that are running through my mind.

I just wish I could protect him from all of the haters out there who I know are going to attack him because their favorite didn't get a medal... :(
