Shoma Uno: 2014-2024

I watched live and of course understood next to nothing! Photos were just starting to come as I was going to bed! I knew there would be translations, thank goodness! A few thoughts:

--Sho seemed more serious than in previous years, and he didn't smile until there was some talk about Stepen!
--In previous years, some of the lucky attendees were able to come up and shake his hand. That was so cool, but I imagine due to Covid precautions they were not able to do that. I presume that the audience was masked.
--I did understand the words "Special Guest", and I knew immediately who the special guest was! He was having trouble hanging on to wiggly Emma chan and the microphone! He DID smile a lot when Emma came out.
--The Japanese skaters should do more events like this. At competitions, the U.S. Friends of Figure Skating holds breakfasts where you buy a ticket, and there are many skaters there. It's fun interacting with them, taking photos, etc. Covid has put a damper on some of those activities, but it is fun to meet the skaters.
--He looked so kakkoii the way he was dressed! But you probably already guessed that from the photos!
--Here is a photo from all the different years there has been a Colan Totte gathering.

Shoma sent flowers to Keiji's retirement ceremony in Kurashiki yesterday. He wasn't able to attend in person (I assume because of the Colantotte event) but Daisuke Takahashi, Misato Komatsubara and Tim Koleto were there for the ceremony.

Very cool -- today the Prime Minister gave a Certificate of Appreciation to the Olympic athletes. He chatted with Shoma and Kaori for a bit. He told Shoma he got a different impression of him from what he saw on tv. I think he didn't realize how "petite" he is. Yes, sir that's because he skates so BIG!

Different pajamas in today's Uno1 video? I'm beginning to think we need a composite photo of Sho's pajama fashions. So far I remember shark pajamas, cookie, black & white checked, one pair 3 sizes too big, Wait! We have it already!!! Parts 1-10. Thank you to the kind poster!!! Shoma's dates for The Ice have been announced. He will participate July 23, 24, 26, 27, 28. The Ice always has such a cool cast and a great, young vibe. Correction: He will also be in the Osaka shows on July 30 and 31.

There's video footage of the Prime Minister of Japan meeting Shoma and it's so funny Apparently Shoma is so different in real life than on TV, the Prime Minister even bumped the guy next to him in his excitement to describe it (and LOL at Kaori laughing).

I wonder if PM-san is a fellow Shoma fan. He did look excited! Great recovery in record time though. I don't think I could've recovered so quickly if I saw Shoma in person Love the Kaori LOLz!

See some interesting spin variations. Best of all -- no hype, no PR, no swagger, no attention-getting talk. Just Shoma as always -- working hard and letting his skating do the talking.

I can confirm that the link above works for shipping to the US, as I actually received a lavender hand towel from the previous Mizuno campaign last month! (Did I tell you I love purple things???) It feels like an ordinary cotton towel and it's small, but it's very cute and will be good to take with my toiletries while traveling!

It looks like these new things won't be shipped until next January, though...

Is it just me, or has Shoma been going out of his way to pay special attention to Toro lately? Toro seems to be the shy one of the bunch when it comes to competing for Shoma's attention. Maybe Shoma doesn't want her to feel left out It seems like she's had some health problems in the past. Hope she is well now.

Glad to get confirmation that the link is a good one. I love lavender too, and that yoga mat looks really nice! When I ordered the UNO face masks, I think I waited about 6 months to get them!!!

MogMateria, I think Toro is a finicky little.thing!. I love how when the other 3 are going nuts, she usually tries to get away as fast as possible, as if to say "I don't want to be part of this chaos." She's so funny! She has been a poor eater in the past, although she seems a little better now.

oh man, I would love a World Champion t-shirt. And I need to own more sweatpants anyway. But I buy most of my clothes at thrift stores, so that's really ...besides, I just spent a ton on shipping for my first kpop album

I don't know if I've ever seen a displayed outfit where I was familiar with the original wearer, but I find that mannequin so disconcerting! It looks nothing like him!
