Feelings about the Gravity costume seemed to be rather mixed. What do you all think? I liked it and thought it looked good on the ice. Melanie got a good photo of it.

I liked it as well, particularly because the crimson color looked just like the fabric on my handpainted banner! 🤣

In all seriousness, I think the costume suits the modern nature of the program. Red is also a color that really seems to be good for Shoma. There are also some subtle sparkly touches like the diamond-shaped buttons on the front and the beading coming down from the shoulders that make it look like more than just a shirt.

Those of you who have seen me at competitions recently know that I have made and decorated some masks based off of Shoma's costumes. The current Gravity costume is definitely mask-worthy (and will obviously be made with the same fabric as my banner). 😷👍 Though I definitely won't make such a mask until after I work on a Shomenta one. 😍🤍 Honestly, I think Padam, Padam needs a new costume, lol.😂

Just saw this blog posted in Deniss' FF but there's observation of Shoma and Padam, Padam in it so here you are (machine translation)

* Uno ("Padam Padam")

I knew that Uno's exhibition number used chanson, so I was looking forward to it. And it was a wonderful program that did not disappoint.

I watched Uno in 2017, 2018 GP Sukekana and 2018 GPF (although there was also 2019 Saitama World), and since then his skating skills are very unique. I thought.

It's a bit like Patrick Chan's "one stroke" kind of slide, but it's still different. He has a unique flavor.

But this time, when I looked at it again from a close distance, it was several times more powerful. As for the movement of the upper body, I am amazed at how they can create the axis so freely and without any danger. Carol Lane always admires CBC's commentary, but from the ice dance coach's point of view, his body use is amazing.

The expression on your face is also nice! It's a gap that you can't imagine from Uno's usual appearance, and that's also interesting. When you meet him in the aisles or see him in the warm-up area, you get the feeling he's "turning off his aura." It's like "Poyon" or "Howow", I'm just there. Even during a press conference, he sat beside me as an interpreter, but I couldn't get the tingling wavelength. (I don't mean that in a bad way, just a neutral observation. Please forgive me.)

Once it becomes a production, it's like a different person.

After skating the exhibition, I was happy to see him skating from the last step to the finish of the FS ``Aria on the G line ~ Mea Tormenta, Properate'' in the encore.

I thought it would be nice if I could see this in the tension of the game, but I came to the conclusion that the exhibition might have been more powerful.

Welcomed home by the four moffs. Look at how happy they all look.

If I'm understanding this correctly, Shoma could only rest at home a little bit before having to go to practice. I can't even imagine having to practice after such a long flight. 😂 Glad he has the family dogs to cheer him up and people to help him get his things set out before practice. 😊

I think its going to be interesting what Shomas does with his technical content. is he going to go crazy balls to the wall to keep up vs Ilia? or leave a bit out becaus there is no Yuzuru or Nathan? There isnt really much of a threat otherwise for him right now. Ilia doesnt have the PCS that Shoma does too.

I think it would be wise for Shoma to focus on the PCS right now precisely because he has that advantage over Ilia at the moment. However, I think he will have to improve his technical content next season in order to keep up with everyone. But ultimately, even if Shoma adds some crazy difficult content for NHK, I just want him to be satisfied with what he does and how he progresses through the season. 😇

I hope not. He is not going to out-quad Ilia. All he has to do is play his own game and do what he does (clean). I really believe in him. Plus his programs are so much more sophisticated than others, and his performance quality is lightyears ahead. 💜

Ugh, can you imagine?! I had a one hour flight and no skating, one hour time difference. He had a 13 hour flight and a strenuous weekend along with a 13 hour time difference. I still feel like I got hit by a truck - can't imagine how he feels! :laugh2: (Oops - sorry for the multiple posts)

Awww. I always look forward to the pup photos wearing Shoma's medals. So touching.

I hope they've decided to adopt Pam. She's still there and she's now part of the clan. I think Shoma likes her a lot.
Oh my gosh, do you think they have decided? She's been there an awfully long time now. I don't know, when I see mother walking 4 dogs and carrying Pam in the sling - it seems like a lot!

I didn't think Shoma had much of a rival except for Ilia but then came along Kao...so you never know. I hope he can do what he said he wants to and that is stabilizing his combos. He can outskate everyone in PCS but notching those combos, especially in the 2nd half will pull him out and away no matter who is in the event.

Sometimes the decision is made for you......She's more than socialized already and once you have 4 on leashes, it's like car seats. Getting them all in it and out the door-adding one more to their pretty well organized 4, it's probably SOP for them right now. She is so darling. I love her. I love the two tiered carriage. But, the grooming, clothes, vet bills, beds, food, adds up but they seem to get a lot out of loving them so I hope they can just let her stay. They're going to need a bigger house.

Pam is a cutie, but I think this may be a foster parenting situation with her... As cute as we all think she is, I think she may have to leave at some point. I don't think we should have our hopes up that they will keep her for good.

It probably is a fostering situation and I won't be disappointed if she goes to another family. She fits right in and I'll miss her if she leaves. We will see!

It’s very seldom that I’m speechless, but it has taken me this long to get my thoughts straight in my head regarding Skate Canada This was the 7th Grand Prix event I’ve attended where he skated, and I really enjoyed it! It’s always so much fun to be with other Sho fans and share our love for him! Chatting, exchanging gifts, cheering, sharing memories from other competitions – FUN!!

There was excitement in the air Thursday as we waited for him to appear on the practice ice. Sigh! And there he was in his pink Uno shirt! Wasn’t the best practice for him, but it didn’t matter. In fact, he was jumping and then having this puzzled look on his face as if he couldn’t figure out what was going wrong on his jumps. He conferred with Ghislain and Stepen, but no lingering at “The Bar” like he did with Coach Mihoko. He is in motion almost the entire practice.

FINALLY, we got to see him skate in a setting other than an ice show! Great to see him on a full-size rink, no spotlights, and booming music. I find it hard to focus on his jump content, because I’m so mesmerized by his total body movement, his carriage and posture, the way he BECOMES and feels the music – honestly, there is no one else competing right now who skates like him…It still makes me smile when I think of Friday’s practice where he took his Team Japan jacket off and many of us clapped and cheered when we saw his new costume. :laugh2: I thought maybe I saw the TEENIEST of embarrassed smiles. Sorry Sho, you are a rock star! And of course, the shiny black pants are…memorable.

Gravity was awesome! The languid movements where he shifts his weight back and forth over the blade, generating speed from his core as he presses down deep into the ice. Excitement was in the air as he came on the ice for Mea Shomenta. Could he overtake Kao, especially after helping him with his laces problem? Usually, I’m so nervous I feel sick to my stomach during competitions, but this time I was strangely calm! Would he win his 15th GP medal? Since he is such a great long program skater, I felt confident he would!

The frosting on the cake – getting to see Padam Padam at the gala. Exquisite! He needs to have some more programs choreographed by Coach Fluffy. She “gets” him. Another great example of how he takes his time with his movements and is patient. His changes of speed. I don’t like him in black, but a change of costume is simple. But I DO expect him to make the best-dressed list again!

Ok, this is starting to get long. Sorry! I could go on for hours! He is truly amazing, and I am so happy to be his fan. 💜Three new programs?! Wow! So glad I had the privilege of waving a brand new banner made in his honor. Such a fun weekend! :points:
