Once again-there is NO ONE like Shoma and no one does what he does the way he does it.

What a day. Over 300 total and just a masterclass in performance, patience and charisma.

Shoma is one for the ages. Sooooooo happy to see the support he has in Torino! Congrats to the medalists!

So proud of Shoma for finally becoming a Grand Prix Final champion (even though I wonder where that triple toe combination I saw in Canada ran off to)!!! Especially wonderful considering the past four years since he's been back there, it feels like things have gone full circle! Can't wait to see the podium.

I'm so happy for Shoma! He did a beautiful performance and broke 300. There is also still things he can improve on so there is room to grow with these programs and do even better in the future. Exciting times for Shoma fans!

I slept through this... but just saw the results Very pleased with SHOMAGICAL !

Still room to improve considering he didn't bother putting a +3 on any combo... (2t, and 2a) and he wasn't able to put in a third combo...

so that's about 8-10 more points or so if he did a + 3t and a +eu+3f somewhere

I’m so happy about shoma‘s gold medal atthe GPF… was a long time coming but it was worth it… and in such a meaningful place too ;___;

Speaking of which, the JSF shared a video of a teary (awww) Stephane talking about Shoma, and it‘s the most wholesome thing ever

Yes. And as Ted Barton put it: Shoma is sports and art at the same time. Thinking about who is on the ice in a similar vein, currently. Well, Vincent Zhou has ended his career, unfortunately, and Papadakis/Cizeron aren't active this season. So ... nobody, actually, I think.

Yes. And as Ted Barton put it: Shoma is sports and arts at the same time. Thinking about who is on the ice in a similar vein, currently. Well, Vincent Zhou has ended his career, unfortunately, and Papadakis/Cizeron aren't active this season. So ... nobody, actually, I think.

Don't get me wrong...Shoma is in a class by himself in artistry and technical prowess. I see Sota emerging in a similar vein lately and I also see some of these qualities in bits and pieces from Camden. BUT, not on the level of Shoma but the glimpses are there. The men's event was very well skated and surprising except for the winner, for me anyway.

Ok, I know nothing about men's hair. Is it that bad? I thought he looked VERY tired. Then I remembered his schedule -- somebody did a Challenger, then Sk Can, then England, then Japan, then he was in an ice show in Italy, then he went home for World Skate Day,, then they went to Torino (he drove?). No wonder he looked a little tipsy after the SP!!!! And who had time for a haircut! LOL.

Wow, and I thought I was weird by not rewatching skaters' performances very often, but really enjoying live competitions...

As someone who vaguely recalls seeing Stephane on TV back in the day, Shoma's confession actually really resonates with me, lol.
