Awww, poor Emma misses Sho so much! So glad they have a chance for a mini-reunion!

Adding -- And here I was thinking I'm so glad Sho will get to rest a little bit now. Never mind. Stars on Ice is March 30 to April 9. No rest for the weary! Take care of that ankle Sho!

Shows are his resting time 😂

I love when people label the elements like this! Sure wish I could do this! Takes a lot of work and patience (not to mention knowledge).

Oh yes, but it'll probably be faster than doing subtitles 🤔

Probably the "Shoma shouldn't have won" types of stuff. Whatever. I'm glad to have seen Shoma win and we fans should celebrate this victory (without disparaging all those other amazing skaters)!

Unlike in Montpellier, when I was slightly uncertain about the outcome after Shoma skated, in Saitama I was 100% certain that Shoma had done enough to win. Even from my position from about 14 rows away on the opposite side of the rink, his performance was still incredibly compelling. Let's not forget that Shoma doing what he did out there is an absolute miracle, considering the circumstances.

I am back home in California now, but I still have some reports from Japan to post. However, I still need to catch up on the recent videos... as well as watch that free skate again. 😅

To be continued...when I feel like it. 😅😅😅

Just the usual bs.

Welcome home! Glad you're back safe and sound. I'm sure that's a competition you'll never forget! The pressure is always huge when Sho skates in Japan. That arena is so enormous. I don't know how they do it. I'd take one look and probably faint! And there were so MANY good performances. No splatfest! Just a lot of good, solid skates and a great podium.

Thankful for all of your on the scene reports. Shoma deserved to win but it was intense especially given his injury and the last 10 skaters were pretty amazing, except for Keegan who did much better in the sp. Glad you're home safely and know that you must be exhausted. Look forward to your future posts but only when you can. We're still savoring the victory.

That's interesting as the difference in points was larger last year, right? 😁
To me, it was the starfishing. I don't think he would have done it if he wasn't sure about winning. Considering his ankle, laying down to celebrate was more appropriate than jumping around :jump:

I think part of it for me was that back then, Shoma hadn't won a world title before, so even though there was a larger point difference already from the short program, there was still this nagging emotional uncertainty about whether he could actually pull it off after he skated...even though I was very calm while Shoma was actually performing. Yuma had laid down a good performance too, aside from that surprising popped axel.

In Saitama, the fact that Shoma had won before certainly helped me to believe he could win again.

And let it be said that the starfish moment was truly endearing. 🥰

Kind of off-topic, but I just changed my avatar to the Saitama Super Arena mascot, Tamaarin... 😊

I am admittedly disappointed to have not seen it on the ice (not even during the gala), but it sometimes hung out outside the arena, along with the Saitama City mascot Nuu (which looks like a green Asian-style dragon). I'm also disappointed that Shoma couldn't apologize to it for roughhousing it in 2019. 😂 When I saw it on the internet in 2019, I knew I would love to have a stuffed version of Tamaarin for myself if I ever got to the Saitama Super Arena. Well, that dream came true. It served as a wonderful stress ball and seat holder during Worlds. Now it is at home, free from anyone who would dare pester it. 😆😊

^^^Wow! The unending cantilever. The gorgeous suit! :points: I do love that program so much. Wonder if it will end up being his SP for next year!

In spite of being busy, there's always time for Emma! (First part of the video is of a walk with all 5 moffs! YIKES!)
