Thank you for the video! The new version of his suit is stunning. It's elegant and it elongates his torso and makes him look bigger in the arena. It's just magic and that goes well with this beautiful program.
I know... I don't usually like suit costumes but this one is fitted so well, it's almost a waste not to use it in an actual competitive program. It's really hard to tailor a suit that looks good in figure skating motion!

According to this, Sho is going to be skating in One Piece on Ice in August! Living out his anime dreams?! (Love the hat!) Check out the cool video!

Sho's words:
"I am truly grateful to have been cast as Luffy in the great work that everyone knows, "ONE PIECE", and I am filled with the feeling that I absolutely want to make a great ice show. I myself have been pushed many times by watching Luffy overcome any difficulties. I would like to do my best to convey the charm of such a wonderful work. For me, everything is a challenge and an unknown territory, but I hope that people who like figure skating and those who have never seen figure skating before can enjoy it."

Oh... my God.... I mean, ONE PIECE isn't just an anime, it's one of the biggest, longest-running anime series in Japan and??? THIS IS BIG??? Congratulations to Shoma, wow!!!! Also I see that the choreographer in charge is Kenji Miyamoto- have they been working all this time to prepare for this??? Aaaaaaaa...

Also I DID NOT EXPECT THIS since I didn't think this arm on the captain preview was Shoma lol. But I was suspicious since they added show dates in Nagoya in addition to Yokohama (which is usually the main rink for shows like this, like for the cancelled Sailor Moon on Ice show). I hope he'll have fun preparing for this!!! And I hope other skaters are joining in too!!!!

Does this guy ever rest?! I was JUST sayiing "Whew, this season, he's ONLY doing 37 ice shows as opposed to last year's 46!" Well, never mind! The official site onepiece-on-ice.com gives all the details. This sounds really fun and will be something to look forward to! :points: (Somewhere in there, he's going to have time to get new programs, right?! LOL!")

Now that I think of it, he's been dropping plenty of hints, and one of the most obvious one was his immediate interview after winning Worlds while still sitting at K&C. He said he's not sure about how his skating in the future will look like, or something similar- which was a bit weird for someone who just won consecutive World titles. I guess he already has his mind on this project, which is something so new and challenging for him! Hopefully it's something refreshing too, he's been so focused on training and competing for the last 2 years, I think a change in pace and priority can be healthy to avoid burnout.

He seems excited- he now has Instagram highlights for his ONE PIECE-related Instagram stories and of course, this! (and he also replied to the OP on ice official instagram account announcing his skating with a meat emoji... since both him and Luffy loves meat lol)

Now I do wonder who are the rest of the cast...

Congratulations to Shoma and good luck! I know almost nothing about anime and have no idea what ONE PIECE is but judging by his and your, guys, enthusiasm and excitement it must be something important and big, so all the best for him and fingers crossed that everything works out well (photos with the hat are just great!!)

I was definitely saying What IS One Piece(since I'm not into anime). I decided to check to see if my public library had any of this stuff. Ha! There were 7 pages of listings of books, X-box, DVD items to be found in the teen section. This description of one of the episodes tickled me! Sounds, um, interesting! :slink:

One piece, Vol 5 King of the busboys
When Luffy accidentally deflects a cannonball into a floating restaurant, he's told he must work there for a year to pay it off. When the cook he's seeking beats up the perpetrator, Luffy's given a choice: either work for a year or leave without his leg!

Shoma, when will you get your new programs? Do you already have your SP (Padam)?

It's Padam Padam today for the first day at Oshu! Keeping it safe with still only the 2A and 3S. Really glad that "San Demi San" is with him!

Since Japanese media is pretty stingy with photos, will share this one instead by Mao Yanzheng on IG, who has more photos from Worlds there too :love2:

I had a huge post involving Nagoya Castle planned to respond to someone's curiosity about it, but the post I was preparing disappeared! 😭 Well, at least you can check out the Nagoya Castle website. Definitely worth checking out, despite the fact that the castle buildings are not originals due to them having been destroyed during WWII air raids. I didn't check out the Hommaru Palace because the lines were too long to get in...still cool to check out the other outbuildings and gardens, though. (I particularly liked the camellia garden-- camellias always remind me of that samurai movie Sanjuro)

Anyway, I'll continue on with my Shoreporting from the afternoon of March 18th. After visiting the castle, I headed over to the Sakae district to find the Nagoya Tokyu Hotel as well as the parfait from it that rabidline had recommended to me. This hotel is quite a classy place! The parfait itself may be found in the hotel's Grindelwald Atrium Cafe on the ground floor of the hotel. There weren't any seats available at the time I arrived and I was told to wait 30 minutes, yet it seemed like my name was called earlier than that. One could order the parfait by itself or have it as a set with tea or coffee for a few more yen. I chose the set with tea, and you could also choose whether to have it with milk or lemon. I chose the lemon version. The cup of tea came out first, with two thin, round slices of lemon that I placed directly into the tea. It took several minutes for the parfait to come, but it was worth the wait! It was quite large and contained things such as strawberries, cream, a strawberry meringue, a thin cookie, strawberry sorbet, marshmallows, strawberry yogurt, crunchy matcha bits, and even more strawberries, all topped off with a crescent-shaped piece of white chocolate and a hint of decorative silver. (Surprisingly, it wasn't the classiest thing I ate in Japan, but that's another story for another time) I stared at it for a few moments, uncertain of how to eat this parfait without making a mess. I then slowly but surely made my way through its varied layers. Some of it admittedly fell onto my plate, but I still ate it anyway. 😆 It all tasted good, but the best part about it was that it wasn't too sweet, except for the strawberry sauce on the bottom. The lemon tea also provided a nice contrast to the parfait, although I accidentally let my slices of lemon sit in the tea for too long and it got a little too sour as a result. 😅 The parfaits at the Nagoya Tokyu Hotel change on a monthly basis, so I hope Shoma had a chance to eat it before March ended. It seemed like something he'd really enjoy! It was quite a tasty experience, but not the last Shoma-related experience of the day! To be continued...

Yaaay, I hope you enjoyed the parfait at Nagoya Tokyo Hotel @yuumagical ! Really enjoying your Nagoya Sho-stories, please keep them coming!

By the way, the joint interview with Shoma and Sota is out now on ESSE Magazine's latest edition. I can't read Japanese so I can't share what they talked about, but there were some nice off-the-interview details shared by the people involved in the magazine.
