Wasn't that fun?! I think I picked all the winners except I had to pick Sk Can for the best Padam Padam because it was fun to see it live. Hooray for Poodle Pajamas! :bed: ๐Ÿ•
I definitely didn't pick all of the winners, lol. ๐Ÿ˜† I actually am a little surprised that I picked the JNats Padam Padam (due to more difficult jump content and equivalent deadliness), because the version of it at Worlds was incredibly deadly live, even from several rows away! Getting to be in an area where Shoma was looking into the audience was priceless... :dbana:There was something special about that final spin too, a certain warmth radiating from it, as if he was thanking the audience for their support... It was so deadly that it was easy for me to call it the program of the season, even though all of his programs were beautiful in their own way this season and I'm not a big fan of galas in general!

I came really close to picking the Skate Canada versions of both Gravity and Aria (especially Aria...seeing Shoma land the 4T-3T in front of my face was mind-blowing!) but ultimately decided on the GPF version of Gravity and the Worlds version of Aria... I suppose I truly am a contrarian. ๐Ÿ˜† Glad I participated in it anyway, helped take my mind off of some depressing circumstances in my personal life...

^^^There's always something special about seeing it live. They should have had Best Starfish of the Season. I'm sure Worlds would have won! What a great way to end the season!...Sorry to hear things are a little "off".

Speaking of awards, Shoma was one of the athletes receiving "Best Athletes" award at a JSF celebration event today in Tokyo. Or... he was supposed to receive it but he didn't attend, and Kaori received the award on his behalf (she was also a recipient on the same award along with other figure skaters like Mai, Kazuki, Sota, Riku and Ryuichi, as well as Kana and Dai).

:ghug: I'm familiar with your last sentence

So he's taking rest seriously now? ๐Ÿค”

That or he has more important things to do than attending the JSF annual award event. He also didn't attend it last year (and was supposed to receive an award too) and he was not injured but was in Champery working on his new SP.

I agree he has lots to do:
His summer shows.
New programs.
Photo sessions for Mizuno.
Costume selection and fittings.
Taking care of dogs.
Making YT videos.
Gaming.

That's the thing. When it collides with the schedule, it's obvious. Maybe people this time thought he would be there.
Keeping his full schedule in mind, I really hope he now rests as much as possible.

More cast members named. Nobu, Rinka, Marin, Kazuki. No big surprises, at least for a few of them. I think it's going to be a huge success.

Adding -- Just saw that the cast of Prince Ice World is involved in this too! Should be fun for some of the big "battle" scenes. No wonder this is creating so much buzz. Sounds like it will be great fun!

Something sad yet something kind of.. uplifting? Not sure.

I attended a funeral yesterday and was not familiar with the planned schedule. And suddenly I saw Shoma skating because the organist played Air. ๐Ÿ˜ฒ So it sounded like a flute. Nothing was really related to the program version and of course Aria was missing but my mind automatically went "oh, how wonderful". That were some very strange minutes there. In a way I'm glad the season is over.

I had a funeral to go to yesterday too, and a version of Air on the G String was played during the viewing of the body...though my reaction to hearing it then was quite different and not something I want to discuss here. ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Here's a fun collection of Sho 3As. The beginning is especially interesting where it shows the difficulty he had mastering the jump! Personally, I'd like to see the return of the 3A-3T (or at least followed by a 2T) and more of my favorite 3A-Eu-3F.
