I love Shoma's skating in EEAAO (not sure if the acronym is correct). But I am a bit baffled by the music. It sounds a bit of a mash up. I am fervently hoping it grows on me. Can anyone enlighten on where this music is from?
Be ready for a little (?) strangeness if you watch it. Have a snack handy.I love Shoma's skating in EEAAO (not sure if the acronym is correct). But I am a bit baffled by the music. It sounds a bit of a mash up. I am fervently hoping it grows on me. Can anyone enlighten on where this music is from?

Shoma... such a perfectionist and really, a true artist.Sho did a new NOW VOICE yesterday where he made some interesting comments about expression. Thank you to feimeicheng for her translation.
"I found the reason why I couldn't pick any of my past works as masterpiece is because I didn't let my own emotions involved in my skating. I just expressed by my body in the way I felt about the music. After one month of doing rehearsals for OPOI, since I have to act and move like Luffy, this new experience helps a lot for me to release my emotions for the character and it seems to set a good influence on my performances at "The Ice". I used to search for the "Correct Answer" for artistry which is actually not available. Like, Daisuke has his way of expressing and I have mine. So after all, what I aimed for is something more like a self satisfaction to the extreme than a final answer. But I am willing to keep working on this for self satisfaction."
(my words) I'm so glad OPOI is providing a great learning experience for Sho. Sounds like it is a really good motivation for him!![]()
I'm charmed, already (once more). So happy that someone fills figure skating with content (also Stephane Lambiel did it with Mahler's 5th symphony, this summer).Shoma's new program, in all its glory of sound, is here.
Everything Everywhere All at Once, choreography by Stephane Lambiel. Enjoy.
You ... connaisseur, you. It's funny to read here, not having watched the videos yet
I might even wait a little longer haha
Stephane: the stretch of the left leg in front of the body while gliding backwards at 1:28.Finally we get to.see the full extent of Shoma's magic. Words fail me! I can see Stephane in there, but most importantly, Shoma makes it his own, as always. ...
Yes. I love that we're seeing some new moves. The mini spiral, bestie squat into the spread eagle, some unusual hops, and more stuff that I'd have to rewatch to write down. That's just what I can remember off the top of my head.Stephane: the stretch of the left leg in front of the body while gliding backwards at 1:28.
I like to imagine how training must have been for the two. Stéphane trying patiently to get Shoma doing all the details and constantly reminding him to not skip a movementYes. It’s so interesting to read this, because although I know Shoma looks up to Dai and I love them both as skaters, I was actually thinking that Come Together is the first time I’ve really seen Daisuke’s influence in Shoma’s movements, haha. Obviously a lot of that is choreography and Shae-Lynn challenging Shoma with different kinds of body movements/more specific articulations (I love it when Shae choreographs for Shoma, she gives him way more intense/energetic music like Great Spirit, it’s such a fun change up) but it also sounds like Shoma is listening to and “receiving” from his choreographers differently now… and maybe that’s what made me think of Daisuke? A sense of specificity in each movement, yes, but also a sense of… freedom, I guess?Sho did a new NOW VOICE yesterday where he made some interesting comments about expression. Sho had been in Chicago in early Jan. 2017. The he flew to Toronto and we were all wondering what he was doing in Toronto. He had gone to have David Wilson do choreo for him. Lo and behold, the beautiful This Town was born.
And the butterflies It's pastel town?
