Hello fellow fans! Always a joy to read your posts!

I haven't been very active here since worlds, I realized. However I have still kept me updated with the skating community, including Shoma. I am mesmerized by his new programs, the costumes and skating. Happy for him seemingly enjoying skating and knowing what HE wants (seeing that genuine smile even after a non-perfect skate at Cup of China felt very reassuring).

However, I can't deny feeling a bit nervous about this new chapter which Stéphane called it - how long will it be? But hey, why worry and feel gloomy while he is still very much an active skater?! I will have to practice living in the present, I guess. NHK trophy will be exciting!

Hi @farornaskonung! Glad to see you're still hanging in there and enjoying skating! Get your vocal cords ready to do some cheering this weekend. It's been a different vibe this year with Sho starting the GP series much later, plus many of us have been spoiled by being able to see him in North America or Europe at the GPs. I think there was a collective yell of "No!" when we saw his assignments! We keep hoping he'll throw us a few crumbs about practices and such, but the pickings have been very slim! :ghug: :console:

Anyway, there's still a lot to look forward to. Here's hoping he has 2 great skates this weekend. I'm debating whether I'll watch live, since both will be on in the middle of the night in my time zone. As long as he's skating, I'm cheering! :cheer::hb::jump::hap10:

Does anyone know if there's any ads with Shoma in Tokyo right now? I was so sure I'd see something at Nagoya Station or somewhere in Osaka for NHK Trophy but no luck and I wasn't there long enough to go hunting. PS I am so bitter that I left Osaka just a few days before NHK 😡

@sallyhatchet I haven't seen photos Sally. Seems like I've seen a few video clips on Twitter...Oh no, what bad timing! :console: That would have been so awesome to be able to see NHK. So sorry it didn't work out. We would have been begging you for on-site reports! Safe travels for the rest of your trip.

Practice photos are starting to come!!!!

Ah so many information to consume!!! I enjoyed Kenji's insight on the FS music, it was funny when he recounted their first listen to Timelapse/Spiegel im Spiegel and just going... "Stephane... Stephane..." while Shoma was like, "yeah that's Stephane alright". I always find Stephane's choice to select the music but leave the choreography to Kenji great for Shoma since he has two different choreographic perspective to present in one season instead of just one.

Stephane's entire interview is just so.... I think as a fan, this season feels like laying down the foundations of Shoma's future as a skater. Competitively yes, there is a race against time on whether he can get his jumps into shape at the right time to compete with the younger skaters during the important competitions in this season. But looking at his future as a skater, I think it's really great that not only Shoma is thinking about how he can skate without further hurting himself too much, he also wants to express himself the best he can, but he's also surrounded by people who are supportive of his journey, especially his own coach. And it also made me realize that Stephane is really the best coach for someone like Shoma, because Stephane himself has gone through a similar experience during his time as a top skater and really seem to understand best how to support Shoma but also respect his independence and space. And I like Shoma's shift from wanting to make Stephane happy and proving that he's the best coach by bringing him results, to looking up to Stephane's skills and artistry as a skater and wanting to figure out his own path as a skater with that influence.

Also... it's been a while since we see Shoma and Yuma on practice ice together!!! They did compete at 2022 Nationals but I remember 2022 Olympics and Worlds as well as their pre-Olympics joint practices at Chukyo University... they spent really a lot of time together back then. They both look happy and good, I'm glad.

More practice photos...

Hello, handsome:

Some trolling at Keiji, as per usual 😂

From the post-practice interview, it seems Shoma has been practicing with a sense of purpose since Cup of China, not really feeling anything particular about a possible 10th GP win but just curious about whether he can show the results of his practice at the competition. He also felt better compared to NHK Trophy last year when he re-screwed his blades right before he skated 😅 Good luck!

A little bit of the run-through... the 4F and ChSq!

Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃

So many beautiful photos. You are like me rabidline. I always say "I'll post a couple good photos!" Then I realize I can't choose, cos there are so many good ones! Keep 'em coming! There can never be too many! Love that video of him talking to Keiji. That's the cheeky little Sho grin I've always loved. Glad he seems to be in good spirits! 15 hour time difference for me, so I don't know if I'll watch live.

Go Shomajesty! Can't wait to see your programs again! And please don't adjust your blades yourself right before you skate. Lol.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I set my alarm to see the men's sp. I can't wait to see this challenge and the beautiful skating it will bring. Go Shoma!!! I hope Toro and Emma are watching the event. They're inspirational, too.I love that Yuma is here. It's going to be so fun to watch.
