Shoma Uno

He was stunning as always. 2nd row center seats. Sheesh. His speed and ice coverage! He still has it! I forget how fast he is until I see him live. Live pianist for the entire show was utterly amazing. Beautiful 4T, 3A, 3S. Great appreciation from the audience. So happy the show.was well attended and the audience was super appreciative.

I’m so jealous. I’d give anything to see him skate live at least once.

Seeing Shoma live is worth it. I hope you can save enough money for a trip to Japan or Switzerland or wherever he might go. 😁
Oh, I will. That’s the plan. I plan to go to Japan within the next year or two and see a show of his and visit Uno Cafe to show support and respect. I’d go to Switzerland too for a show. I heard the air in Switzerland is very fresh and healing. I wonder if he would ever consider doing shows in the US. I heard he did for an ice rink he trained at although I know that’s different but still he did it before and I’m sure he must have had a nice time when he did.

Cutest!! My friend who was there said Shoma is really cute and kept playing around with Marin and Koshiro 🥺

Also Shoma did a side by side axel jump in the finale with Yakov, who played the main character of the show! Apparently when everyone did a finale trick Yakov was wondering if he should go for it too, and then Marin noticed and both her and Shoma encouraged Yakov to jump together with Shoma 🥰

Mizuno is having a special project in commemoration of Sho's retirement. There will also be a special live talk event on Sept. 29. Sota posted that he will be there too. I love that Mizuno is reiterating that they will continue to support Shoma.

Adding: I see fans are excited that they are preparing a special Photo Book.

Simply gorgeous. What a heartbreaker 💔
I wonder if the Champery summer show might be a regular thing for Shoma? I would definitely go next year !!
I'm not sure if they do a show every summer, and the narration was all in French, so if they mentioned it, I missed it. I think maybe it's every 2 years, but not sure.

Arriba: Please, can you sign my beautiful banner?
Shoma: No autographs or photos tonight. Sorry.
Arriba: (sad face) OK, next time?
Shoma: (Sho laugh)
Arriba: waaaaaaa

Unbeknownst to me, a kind soul took photos of what transpired! Darn, I tried my best to get our beautiful banner signed. Maybe next time. He was kind and unfailingly polite, as always.

This was such a fun part of the finale. The audience didn't want to leave! I like this camera angle of the jumps, plus you can see how Sho jogs off the ice after they jump and they high five each other.

A little throwback to Skate Canada 2022, when Shoma helped Kao Miura by giving him his spare laces/tape for Kao's broken shoe laces before the FS. Kao said he respects Shoma as a person and that Shoma is what Kao thinks an athlete should be (y)

This was part of figure skating program playlist selected by a Japanese skater, and this time it's Kao's turn and he selected Shoma's Loco as 1 of the 16 programs he chose for his playlist!

Also, the group photo from the show finale at Champery, thanks to Stephane! Find where Shoma is 😆

Believe me, it happened quite by accident, just like those things usually do. Then I'm thinking why didn't I tell him to come to the U.S. for SOI, or congratulate him on his retirement, etc. No time to think!!! Being that close was good enough. And -- waaaaaa -- was that the last time for me to see him skate? If so, the Shompery pilgrimage was a good ending. :palmf:

You did the best you could and got a memorable Shoma moment. That's the important part. 🙂

For some reason, I have this feeling that it won't be the last time for you...I'm sure he'll have more shows in Japan, at least, and there will be enough fans to help you with the process of buying tickets. 🙂

Thank you for sharing your story @Arriba627 ! Hehe, no worries about the banner. We got the first one signed back in The Hague in 2020! You really did have a nice moment with Shoma there- I wonder if he remembered you from Chicago! Safe trip home!!!

100% agree with Kao. Others can learn a lot from Shoma.
