Shoma Uno

this sp performance is what brought me into the unoverse! i had no idea of the significance of the 4T3T (or really any jumps lol) at the time, and was just watching the men's event to cheer on nathan. i saw shoma's oboe and that did it, i was hooked! by the time the free skate came around, i was so nervous for him haha

Ahaha, happy unoverse anniversary then!

It was a brilliant performance from Sho. I also LOVED that he wore the red and black costume. It stood out so well against the blue background of the boards. I came to think of that costume as one of his Good Luck Costumes. He also wore it for the short at Montpelier Worlds and skated a flawless SP there too.

Interesting how many of us "stumbled" into the Unoverse. In 2015 I went to Milwaukee to see Jason at Skate America. I enjoyed him very much but left saying "Who is this little Japanese guy?! I really liked him." Oh my gosh, Sho looked like a little kid -- 17 going on 18. Glad I made the trek to Milwaukee! I'm sure many others have similar stories.

I almost missed it, but I think February 4 was the day of Men's SP at Team Event, and Shoma did really well and did his first SP 4T3T in competition in 4 years 😇

Skate America 2021. Sho did a gorgeous 4T-3T in the SP (followed by a stunning 3A). The crowd went nuts. (see :56). He HAD to do it because he popped the 4F to a double (invalid element). Still all in all, it was a beautiful skate much appreciated by the crowd. Very deserving of a silver medal. Also the only time he ever beat Nathan. Nathan was a little "off". Not sure if he was ill or injured.

I knew I forgot something!!! Thank you Arriba for the reminder. The team event Olympic SP was the first time Shoma did the full 4F 4T3T 3A configuration again then  Skate America 2021 was really the moment I thought "oh he's going to fight with all he has this season!!!" The 4T3T in the SP, the nailbiting fight vs. Nathan for the silver in the FS and the fun EX (I still watched this fancam where you can hear the audience go "yeehaw!!" at his moonwalk lol). What a season.

^^^He got the season off to a great start at Skate America, and he was REALLY in fighting shape for the Oly season. He really threw himself into the Michael Jackson EX.

I think Sho has a weakness for delicious strawberries....The description is making me hungry! Yum!!!
"This is a limited quantity and will be available until 3pm today (as UNO's mother left early).
The parfait is layered with ingredients that are all handmade from the bottom up: grape jelly, fresh cream, mascarpone, granola, black tea chiffon cake, fresh cream, strawberries, two kinds of ice cream, and strawberries."

3 years ago, our little warrior fought like crazy and won the bronze medal! So proud of him and proud of his sportsmanship. I'm sure the bronze medal was cherished just as much as his 2018 silver. Wow, a 2-time Oly medalist. Thx for the memories. Happy Sholero Day!

Arriba, I know time flies but this happened only three years ago! Yes, our little legend fought very hard to earn that bronze medal...

I was watching some of the older videos on the dog Youtube channel last night and it made me wonder, how many dogs does the Uno family have now to be exact? Toro, Emma, Barron, An and that's all I can remember.

@Figskater23 They have 5. The 5th is Colon, the white one. I was just now watching an old video of the dogs, and it made me laugh. Colon was racing around in circles. She's a little terror...Also watched the one where Sho is opening up the bag of goodies he received when they gave him his silver team medal in a special ceremony. That Oly watch was beautiful.
