It's available on TBS and TVer so I think it must need Japanese phone number? But I'm still looking for more information as well.



Also in case you don't know yet. Shoma and Marin debuted a new program today which was set to the Four Seasons as recomposed by Max Richter! From the reports it seems that they have included new elements, such as new lifts, one foot sequence as well as choreo slides.

Shomarin's new program was made... by Jean Luc Baker! He came to Japan and Misato Komatsubara helped with assisting and interpreting. I'm still a bit dazed from the new information today, because what do you mean they got a program made by JLB???? I think when I first saw Shoma doing ice dance elements with Marin he reminds me a lot of JLB so what do you mean they are working together ahhhh.

They have new costumes as well of course. Shoma's back looks like butterfly wings while Marin's skirt looks like blooming petals.

Was there a reason you chose The Four Seasons for the ice dance?
“Yes. The choreographer brought this piece to us, and that’s how we decided on it. There were other candidates as well, but there are copyright issues nowadays, so within those constraints. As for the fact that this piece overlaps with something skated in the past in Ice Brave — that was purely coincidental. The choreographer brought this to us.”

Who was the choreographer? Kenji Miyamoto?
“We had it choreographed by someone named Jean-Luc — Jean-Luc Baker. He’s a former American ice dancer who has already retired, and he came to Japan for this. Misato Komatsubara acted as interpreter and assistant. After that, once we were on site, Kenji-sensei adjusted things like, ‘Let’s do this part a bit more like this.’ Then when Stéphane arrived, he suggested things like, ‘This expression might look better if we do it this way.’ So many people contributed to the choreography.”

What led you to ask Jean-Luc to choreograph it?
“We wanted to take our ice dance one step higher at the final stage of Ice Brave. Rather than combining only what we could already do to make something good, we wanted something that would make us level up even if it was difficult. I also wanted to experience what kind of program would come out of having an overseas choreographer. That’s why, compared to Wild Side, the parts that play to our strengths — like jingle-style sections — were reduced, and the ice-dance elements increased significantly. Daily practice was quite demanding and difficult, but I think we gained a lot from it.”

Shoma also did Gravity as a duet with Stephane!!! He has mentioned Gravity as a program he's been considering to skate together with Stephane but eventually settled on Legends instead for Ice Brave 1 but yeah now they finally did it. I'm very glad they chose to wear black shirts (which was what Stephane wore for Ice Brave 1) instead of the purple shirt Shoma wore for Ice Brave 2 LOL.





Shoma was of course very grateful that Stephane was able to made the trip to Japan, especially with his very busy schedule. Stephane is of course going to the Winter Olympics next week as a coach!

Unlike version 1, you skated Gravity together with Stéphane.
What did it feel like to skate choreography created by your coach together?
“Well… Stéphane’s timing was so different from what I was used to (everyone laughs). It was really different, so I worked hard to match it. Yesterday we set aside time to practice together — like, ‘Let’s do this here, let’s share this here.’ But when we tried it again in the morning, it was different again. I don’t speak English, so I said something like ‘Switch?’ or ‘Did you change it?’ but it didn’t get across. He was like, ‘OK, OK’ (everyone laughs), and we adjusted while watching each other.”

Ice Brave has finally ended. There is still the stream next week which I will try my best with friends to buy and share if we can. There were apparently drone cameras on the first and last day so I'm very curious what TBS has managed to capture!!

From the reports it seemed to be a very emotional final performance 🥹 everyone cried or at least have tears in their eyes except Shoma 🤣 I guess he was happy seeing everyone so happy so he didn't cry. At the end of the final song (See You Again) usually the members of Ice Brave stood side by side to give their bows, but at the last show they all hugged Shoma instead 😭

And they skated out for the final encore in matching reversible jackets that had their signatures and messages to each other. Of course Shoma had a very special message from Stephane 😁

Hello, everyone. Is there any news on the IceBrave livestream in relation to how to buy access or whether it can be watched outside of Japan? I think tomorrow is the last day, isn't it?

It's already the 8th in Japan, so today would be the last day. I haven't quite been able to figure out how to buy a ticket and access the livestream (and my focus has been on the Olympics these days...). I also heard from a Japanese Shoma fan that the stream doesn't have any music (and this seems intentional). Not sure if it would be worth the effort to try and watch a music-less stream. :(

You can buy it through ticket proxy services like this: https://www.ticket-japaaan.com/

They will set you up with an account and all you need to do is use it to log in the TBS website and watch the stream. The stream itself is not geoblocked.

But let me know if you don't have the time to buy the stream 😁 all I can say is there is no need to worry even after 8 February.

The stream has good music and audience sound! It is definitely not completely music-less. Yes, there are a few programs that needed to be overlaid by stock music, but it's only 4 out of 19 programs and it's only the ones that do have tricky copyright issues (MJ songs, Stairway to Heaven, DOMO because the show used the full Calum Scott version of the song and Andrea Bocelli's La vie en Rose).

The rest is perfectly fine and I have to say the quality of the camerawork for an ice show is pretty up there.

But again to anyone who don't have the time to watch the stream, just let me know 🙏 the show is really something I reccommend to Shoma fans and I think it's a nice way to end the Olympics once all the events are done.

Thank you for the correction, I think something may have gotten lost in translation when I spoke with this fan. 😅

My focus is on the Olympics at this point in time, so I will take you up on your offer. 😉

So is there a chance for fans in Europe to watch the show? If that’s possible, I’m interested. What should I do to get access?
 
A bit of a breather between individual and team events: Shoma's response to someone on Twitter saying being short is just not great by saying his feet doesn't stick out of his futon blankets (because he's short). People seem to like that he has a positive view on his... shortness.



And someone asking if Shoma really is that short leads to Shoma sharing a new and very cute childhood photo:
