So-Youn Park

What pressure? By then, probably Sohyun An and Da Bin will have already passed So Youn if So Youn doesn't wake up.

Please, So Youn!!! Be strong!

LOL That's the exact kind of pressure Soyoun is experiencing in SK.

Don't worry I said the same things as well...:ohwell: I think Soyoun makes all of us say a lot of contradictions.

Anyway, have fun and do your best, SY!

I have completely given up on So Youn as of today....

From now on, I will just watch her without any expectations.

It frustrates me how she made the same spin mistakes AGAIN like her 2015 worlds fs and yesterday's sp.

I'm not being harsh. I'm being realistic.

I still love So Youn, but I will not have expectations from now on. That's it.

Soyoun did mess up her fly camel spin once in practice. fly landing bad. Her condition cannot do 3-3 currently. so they changed into 2-3-2 combo. smart decision. More report will come after tonight's men's event.

Still got Cup of China, less pressure this time. Good luck!

Everyone has bad competitions, and given YYY's report on her practice, maybe we shouldn't be surprised. I will always support her, love her programs and think it can only get better. Hope she let go of her doubts, she has the goods, just some how need to get there. I think it is clear to her and her team, she need to go beyond what is necessary to really stand out there, particularly in PCS. Not exactly fair, but it is one of the struggles she must over come. Not even give an inch is how Yuna managed to gather her PCS eventually... lot of hard work, struggles and tough marks.

This.

I like So Youn. I think it's a bit frustrating given her struggles but she's beautiful to watch and she will get there one day.

Soyoun mass up spin may due to stamina problem. She looked really tired towards end in comp. Also the only fly camel she messed up in practice is towards the very end of a practice session.
I think SoYoun's 3S condition at this comp was not good enough for her to do a -3T.
There are actually quite a lot to love about Soyoun's skating. no matter it is live or on screen. Watching live, SoYoun has the biggest 2A-3T of them all!! Her performance is also quite lovely, the Red violin stsq in practice is actually quite effective. She did admirable intensity. In comp, her performance is a little weaker. But still solid. Live audience wowed at her 3loop jump. the phrasing of that jump(suspension)is great!
She also start her jump practice with 3loop, which seems to be her stronger jump now.
I will still support SoYoun, because there are alot to like about her. She did not regress in my eyes at all and possess many qualities that I love about figure skating.

Last year, SoYoun's program is the one that left the most impression in my heart among all, but this year she indeed felt a little flat, Gracie is my favourite this year.

Hopefully COC will be better, she won't have to adjust to such a drastic time difference, I like her programs this year, even though she messed up I liked her LP the most over all

I've felt her jumps are being more and more unsecure.
Especially when she executes lutz and flip
the air position seems always extremely straightened
which make her difficult to land them.
It also seems like that she lost every confidence of doing 3T after 3S or 2A.

Of course her programs are so good and her expression is very sophisticated,
but she needs to make her consistency solid first to make those things be appreciated.

So sad for Soyoun in regards to her Camel problem. Isn't camel supposed to be one of the easier, if not the easiest spin? (excluding the basic upright spin)

I really hope she manages to shape up her spin because for the most part, there're many positions of her that are simply beautiful. It's just unfortunate that this part is holding her back.

She's always had issues with centering her camel spin in the past but even good spinners can have off days if their mind is not in the right place. Patrick Chan, Yuzuru Hanyu, Nam Nguyen and Javier Fernandez are all top of the top skaters and they've bombed spins before. She should not feel bad, she needs to dust herself off and move forward, really hope I can see that LP performed to perfection, it's a gorgeous program.

I know. Especially with that 2A-3T-2T. That was simply gorgeous and she actually went for it. Too bad she doesn't seem to be able to execute a clean long like she did at 2014 W. :hopelessness: The short on the other hand...I have yet to see a clean one from her.

She did do a clean one in the Olympic season....but in SK and also had a bad spin element......[emoji29]

She had one clean SP last year. It was at Korean Nationals, but it's too bad that it wasn't an international event.
