There is no logical way to explain SoYoun's low PCS. all the other reasons such as she needs better SP, she needs to be more consistent, she is slow. are not the reason.Perhaps just a way for her fans to justify her low PCS so that they will feel a little better in their heart psychologically.
SoYoun's FS PCS is freaking 5 points below Zijun's is absolutely a joke at this event, and Zijun is not even a skater from strong fed country.
It is really ridiculous now, why SoYoun's PCS is always so low. Some people need to address this issue!!!!!
 
The reason Soyoun belongs to ATS could be one reason. ATS is a company not the Fed. KSU or other Feds could be upset or threatened by new system. It’s quite New isn’t it? KSU don’t get a penny from it. So they could be mad in some ways??? It’s all guessing. I’m not sure
 
Just watched SoYoun's EX. apparently she didnot expect to skate at gala, so didnot bright EX costume.
One suggestion, please do not wear black gloves in Gala, cos it is dark and people won't see, especially, when there are tons of amazing hand/arm choreo is this ex number.
Other than that, a fun performance, SoYoun is a definitely a good performer, worthy much more than her PCS.
on a side node, when SoYoun was introduced, what the host said is, SoYoun is a skater famous for her performance/artistic ability.
At least the Chinese gala host get it right!:luv17:

Yay! Now please skate it cleanly in competition!!

That was a great run thru but one can't help but wish she were just a little bit faster.
 
Seems like she's also getting her layback spin back( though still looks a bit wonky)
 
So according to the Korean Nationals thread, So Youn will be changing her FS back from Red Violin to Romeo and Juliet. This is my opinion (which I stated in the nationals thread)

I'll be honest: Her SP needs more of a change than her FS. It just seems a bit too weak at the moment. For the FS, I personally like her Red Violin program more than RJ. The choreography is actually pretty nice if you pay attention to it. But admittedley, it sometimes did seem like the music was overpowering her a bit. So if she is more comfortable with RJ, than it's understandable.

Her consistency at FS was not good, so judges or fans do not have a good impression of her FS. Performing her FS in Worlds seems a bit risky. She needs more experience to do that sort of programs I guess but I love her SP though. It suits her very well.

I have the opposite thoughts as you. I've always thought her FS needed more of a change than her SP. Her SP is very lovely (I love the music and her movements). It's just that she hasn't gotten it together yet (I hope she can clean it at least once in the second half of this season. Please skating gods!)

As for her FS, instead of So Youn owning the music, it felt like the music was owning her. I like the Red Violin music, but personally did not feel it fit So Youn because the music tends to be repetitive and serious (It made her appear much slower, hesitant, and direction-less). Maybe the program would be an appropriate fit for her if she were consistent and trying to show a different side of herself. But right now, rather than showing a different side choreographically, she needs to, first and foremost, go clean and show the judges that she is strong and consistent. Once she does that, maybe she can revisit Red Violin in the future.

I am so glad that she is going back to her RJ program. Maybe we'll see a clean program this season! PLEASE SO YOUN! FOCUS!

I see. You do have a point. At least her RJ program matched her style very nicely last season. Like I said before, it does seem more comfortable for her. And if we want to see her have a clean FS, it is easier to do it with a comfortable FS.

I hope So Youn does well at nationals!
 
Her R&J is so good. It would be my favorite program of hers but I can't deny that the Swan is. Love em both tho ;)

Obviously I want to see her skate clean but more importantly I'd just like to see her skate free. She seems to carry a lot of expectations on her shoulders. Let it go girl. Just do it for yourself :cheer:

The Swan is your favorite So Youn SP, and RJ is your favorite So Youn LP. Let's just leave it like this so you can say that they're both your favorites
