So-Youn Park

Btw guys, I'm super glad that So Youn FINALLY didn't get a darn 51 for PCS in the FS. 56.74 is still a bit low IMO; I thought she deserved around 58, but she is definitely on the right track.

I can't wait to see her live at Worlds!!!!! Hopefully, there will be a clean Black Orpheus and clean R&J there! :luv17::love::hap10::o:

Only the truest of fans will raise a stink over 1.26 pts of PCS!!! I love it :yahoo:

I'm so glad she brought back R&J.

SY needs to stop getting nervous!!!!! But then, who am I to talk, I can't even teach in front of 15 college freshmen without getting nervous

Everyone gets nervous! I'm pretty sure even Satoko does too. Haha.

But it's a matter of how you deal with it, which So Youn severely struggled with. But it does appear that she is regaining her confidence and is on the right track (after her slump, which was just depressing......:slink:). She did pretty fine for skating LAST after Miyahara had a phenomenal FS. I'm sure this was a great experience for her to add onto her confidence. If I were her, I would keep my head up high. :agree:

This is what happens when one of your favorite skaters constantly gets a 25 PCS for the short program and a 51 PCS for the free skate.

I completely forgot she skated last! In that case, I think she handled that skate pretty well. However, I REALLLY wish Yuna can be her mentor and help her cope with the nerves. So Youn with the nerves of steel would make me very happy

OMG! That would be my dream!

She should borrow some of those nerves of steel from Da Bin in addition to receiving training from Yuna.

I was always under the impression that ladies figure skaters tend to get more nervous when Yuna is around

SoYoun in 4th after skating last in FP! :yes2: This is much better than I hoped.

Too bad about the fall and step-outs but glad she got it together in the 2nd half. I'm really enjoying her style - soft and elegant. It's really like watching a ballerina on ice (the arms and poise ). Her jumps are wonderful too - good air position, flow and height, very much deserving of +GOEs. Aside from salchow, her 2a-3t and 3l are gorgeous!

I got teary-eyed watching her surprised & smiling face in K&C. Believe it SoYoun, you got 4th place. Now just keep holding it together thru Worlds. I just want to continue seeing the joy you've been expressing on your skates - very genuine that makes me root for you more!

Cheer her for us! Now I wish I can go too just to see her live. Yes, hopefully she'll perform her best in Boston.

Proud of So Youn performances at 4CC. She made a big step forward, hope the Worlds will only be better for her :hap10:

i adore her too! hopefully she will find her consistency and improve on her spins and SS (sometimes i feel like she is dragging her feet during stsq :slink: ) Kurt said her jumps are athletic but also gentle and i agree, she is one of the best jumpers :luv17: unfortunately not consistent but i am hopeful that she will find her fighting spirit :hap85:

She does need to improve on her spins and SS, but on the bright side, her spins now are MUCH, MUCH better than they were in the beginning of the season. Remember what happened in SA? :hopelessness:

i remember, she had problems with her spins last year too :slink: but not just fixing levels, she needs to improve speed too  btw love her Y position (or is it called I?) and transition into it, she makes it look easy :luv17:

Yeah. At least she is getting full levels and some positive GOE for her spins right now.

Of course, it would be great if she can up the speed though. It would help her close the gap with the top skaters.
