It will be a good experience for her. And if she performs well, she may steal the show of the night and possibly be awarded a medal! I'm kind of happy that she's last also because the judges will not be able to downgrade her PCS like they did in the past.
But either way, I'm satisfied with the clean SP. I just hope she will try her best at the moment when she skates. That's all I require.

I did a double-take when I saw the results this morning. Well done, So Youn!!!! What a beautiful performance!!! :hap93::hap93::hap93: I'm soooo happy for you!!! I will not say anything more because I'm afraid of jinxing her ( :hopelessness: ) but I'm hoping this is a huge step in the right direction for her!

Nice to her smiling while performing. Her 2A was wonderful and as usual, nice use of her arms.
I really really hope she can put it together again in the FP. But whatever happens, at least I know now that she still has it in her. She's still someone I can look forward to in the next season.

I thought I had lost all hope for her, even a small inkling, but that hope has been rekindled. :agree:
Now if Soyoun skates a clean LP, too, I'll seriously start believing in her! Or maybe I should not, since the one time I counted her out in my predictions was the time she skated clean internationally

Wow great skate from Soyoun!! Very happy and proud of her. :hap57: (for that matter, very proud of all Korean ladies here. Great job!) Hopefully this will boost her confidence. Yes she can do it. And now she knows she can do it! :clapper:
She skates last in the FP which is not the best position, but it will also be a valuable experience for her no matter what.
I won't be able to watch ladies' FP live either, so here all my fingers are crossed for her. Hopefully I will wake up and find out pleasantly surprising result again.

What I hope for her team to do is just keep the SP layout as it is. Don't change it for Worlds. PLEAAASE
What she needs to do is to keep this consistency on. I know backloading has changed how people are now thinking of improving and scoring higher but for SY, she needs that comfort and confidence. I think her past layout of having the 3Lz at the second half really bogged her out. So keep this layout for now!!!

The layout actually works out nicely for her because she now has more steps going into the 3Lz, which enable the judges to go up with the GOE.
She completely surprised me yesterday because I was expecting her to do her combination first as always, and suddenly she went into a 3Lz.

She was very good, indeed yesterday!
if I recall correctly, you watched SoYoun's beautiful "I dreamed a dream" ex live at COR a couple years back. She must have left an "impression" on you.

I never doubted she was gracious in her skating, I would say stylish or even "queenish" in her posture. I even placed gut "bets" on her in GP prediction game last season and received 0 points for that. After a while I gave up: "she cannot skate clean ans slow". But her SP at 4CC proved - the potential is there. I would not like to compare her with some other skater but I still think that her score should have been higher than 62 - for one thing, her pcs deserve to be higher.
