Sota Yamamoto

The 54th Kitakyushu Open Figure Skating Competition. Being held Thursday, August 4 to Sunday, August 7, 2016 at the Iizuka Ice Palace. From my understanding those numbers in the 'SP' column are start orders.

I believe his senior debut starts today then or tmr depending on where u r at in the world and ur timezone.

Oh no... I hope he hasn't been overtraining himself. He has to heal properly or otherwise that could lead to a chronic injury. :sad21:

This article says that Sota stress fractured his right ankle again :(

It says he withdrew (from what?) and the article is mainly about Yuzuru who might compete at Autumn Classic depending on his condition so I'm guessing they were going to send Sota to it as well :sad21:
Hes chance to stand on the podium with his idol, Yuzuru....gone, I bet he was looking forward to it, I was...
😭 Excuse me, I have to go to the bathroom to drown in my tears.

I am so sorry to hear about his injury. Does anyone know if this re-injury could lead to problems like arthritis in the future?

I asked my mom who is an anisthesis (type of doctor), she said it usually shouldn't but not 100percent. I don't think we should be too worried about the future injuries like osteoporosis or arthritis but still hope he recovers fully and doesn't rush it. Tho I was seriously looking forward to him going to tdf and NHK although it's almost sure he won't be able to be in top form by the time the gp series starts :( much less be able to compete.

Oh no.... :( He fractured his ankle again or is the old injury not fully healed?

It looked to me that he and his team were being very careful with the injury and not rushing into getting his jumps back. But there is another boy in TJ who broke his ankle twice this year and he said he broke it the second time by jumping 2Lo so it goes to show that you can never be too careful.

His health is the most important of course, but I would have loved to see that happen!

That is too bad, I thought he has fully recovered since I think I saw him doing some ice shows. I wonder if he will heal by the time GP starts, I hope he would. :(

Oh no....another injury before the GP series. Poor Sota. Could he make it himself to participate in the assigned GPs?

I am so sorry to hear about another ankle injury;;;;; My best wishes to Sota for no haste but a full recovery.

His senior debut and Oly Games in 2018 CAN wait.
