Spanish National Championships, 11-14 December 2025

As I said, the first Junior partnership, Carolina Shan CAMPILLO ÁLVAREZ / Pau VILELLA SIRVENT (MAD), have withdrawn. So we start with partnership #2.

I always love the instrumental version of this music that Anita MAPELLI / Noah QUESADA GRAU (EUS) are skating to. But I really do not like this version with vocalisations.

Anita is weatring a dress that is mostly white, but at her waist it starts to fade through blue to black. Noah is wearing a matching jumpsuit.

They were good. I enjoyed that.

They go into the lead.

Unfortunately, my stream froze, so I missed the very start of Inés MOUDDEN ROCA de TOGORES / Alejandro Lázaro GARCÍA MELGARES (MAD).

Which is a real pity, because I always love spooky programmes. They were skating to "Stir Of Shadows" by Nux Arcana, and "The Dance Of The Witches" by John Williams

Inés is wearing a dress which is black at the top, and then fades to blue in the middle, and then green at the skirt part. Alejandro is wearing a white shirt with handprints on it, and black trousers.

I absolutely loved that!!!

Onto the Seniors, and Megan YUDIN / Patrizio ROSSI (EUS) were skating to an Elvis medley. "Fever" and "Burning Love"

Megan was wearing a red dress, while Patrizio was wearing all black.

They were good. But, if I am totally honest, I preferred the Juniors.

Ah, Jonathan is with them. They must belong to the same club as my Basque kid. I didn't know they did Pairs skating at that club as well.

And that's it for the Pairs today.

Alexandra KULDISHOV LÓPEZ (MAS) is wearing a dress where the top half is silver, and the bottom half is black. Oh, and black tights.

Not sure what the first piece of music is. But then it turned into that "epic" version of Lana Del Rey's "Young And Beautiful"

Not a bad start to the competition. Which bodes well.

She went into the lead of both FS and overall.

Kseniia ISAIEVA (UKR) via Valencia was wearing a dress where the top half was light grey, and the bottom half was black.

I don't know either song, but both of them were in German. There was a weird bit of music in the middle, which wasn't my taste.

A very different programme. But she was good.

She goes into 2nd position in both the FS and overall.

Daniela LÓPEZ ROMERO (MAD) was wearing a red dress, and doing a "Carmen" programme.

She may be little, but what she was doing was mighty!

Towards the end, I thought she was running out of steam. But then she changed my mind about that when she did the spins at the very end!

She goes into a massive lead in both the FS and overall! By over 20 points!

Andrea PAZOS GUERRA (AND) and skating to that song that uses the tune of Einaudi's "Experience".

She was wearing a purple dress, with a white sash, one purple glove, and one white glove.

She was good. But, she was level on points with Daniela LÓPEZ ROMERO (MAD) in the SP. So, after what Daniela just did, it is a big ask for Andrea to take the lead.

As well as her coach, she has her two male team-mates sitting with her.

She goes into 3rd position in both the FS and overall.

Mariam MATEO MARTINEZ (MAD) is wearing a black dress with sparklies.

I was enjoying the music when it started, but then vocals came in and spoiled it.

My stream froze in the middle, and when it came back the music had completely changed. It had gone from classical to electro-rock!

Such a pity she had a fall early on. Because the rest of what I saw was good.

She's disappointed.

She goes into 6th position in the FS, and 4th position overall.

Eloisa MERINO SOLA (NAV) is wearing a gorgeous magenta dress. And doing an "Aladdin" programme - the instrumental version of "Arabian Nights".

She had a couple of mistakes in the first half. A wild landing, and a real splat of a fall.

It's a pity, because she was really good otherwise.

Whoa! She did a backflip in the closing stages!

Simon Briggs sitting with her. I didn't know the Dundee club had any Spanish skaters. I take it David Richardson is with Aleksandra Golovkina for the Lithuanian Championships then.

She goes into 2nd position in both the FS and overall.

Elsa BONET SATSUKI (CAT) is wearing a gorgeous black dress with matching glovess. And skating to instrumental music.

She made a mistake early on, but I'm not sure whether it will be classed as a fall or a hands-down.

But, on the whole, I enjoyed that.

She goes into 2nd position in both the FS and overall.

It's all Madrid skaters for the rest of the competition. First up, it's the one that isn't one of the Segui sisters.

So, with Daniela LÓPEZ ROMERO (MAD) still leading, we know the Junior Ladies Champion will be from Madrid. The question is, who?

Estela RUIZ GARROTE (MD) was wearing a light grey dress with black belt. And skating to instrumental music.

First up, is Adriana SEGUÍ JIMENEZ (MAD), who is wearing a dress which is blue in teh top half, and white in the bottom half.

She is skating to "Unchained Melody". Ah, it's a "Ghost" programme. And we have dialogue in the middle.

I just noticed, her make-up has been done in such a way as to make her look like a ghost!

That was beautiful.

Ach, they cut to the replays at just the wrong moment. I wanted to see if there was any interaction when Adriana was coming off the ice and Noa was coming on.

Adriana looks disappointed waiting for her scores.

She geos into 2nd position in the FS, and the lead overall.

Right, now for her sister.

Noa SEGUÍ JIMÉNEZ (MAD) is wearing a red dress.

At the start we had an "epic" cover of Tears For Fears' "Shout", which I had never heard before. And then it gave way to a version of my favourite piece of skating music, Clint Mansell's "Lux Aeterna". But, to be honest, I didn't like this version.

She had a fall at the time the music changed. But, apart from that, she was brilliant!!!

Hang on. I just saw a hand down in the replays.

Before seeing that, I would have said that Noa had it. But, I wouldn't want to call it now. It's going to be tight.

Noa goes into 3rd in the FS, and 2nd overall.

Adriana is 2nd in the FS, but wins overall.

The sisters are separated by 1.26 points in the overall standings.

What a result! Gold and Silver medals for the same family!

But, because I know that this will be archived, I'm going to stay with the Lithuanian Championships for the Junior Ladies SP and Senior Ladies SP, and then return here for the Senior Short Dance.
