Just so that you know, yesterday's stream is now back up. So, since we now have a break for 3h 20m, I am going to go back and watch Group 3 of the Advanced Novice SP that I missed while eating last night.

Practices over. Time to get back to the competitions.

Senior Ladies on the ice for their Warm-Up.

It was supposed to be a Basque girl, then a Catalan girl, then four girls from Madrid. But, the penultiamte skater, #5 Núria RODRIGUEZ SERRANO (MAD), is a withdrawal.

First up is Nahia OLAIZOLA MUGURUZA (EUS), who I know is a team-mate of my kid.

She is wearing a gorgeous black dress. And skating to "Black And Gold".

Wow! What a way to start the competition! That was amazing!

Jonathan sitting with her. (Iker is first to skate in the next group, so he is probably backstage preparing).

She goes into the lead. Obviously.

Ariadna GUPTA ESPADA (CAT) is also wearing a black dress. But, I don't like the back of it.

Skating to the familiar tones of "Malagueña".

She had a strange trip at one stage. But otherwise was good.

She has a really big crowd with her! 5 of them, plus herself. I was surprised they all fitted on the sofa!

She goes into the lead.

Now for the first of three Madrid girls to round out the competition. María ESCRICHS LAVIAGA (MAD) is wearing a sky blue dress. And skating to Céline Dion's cover of "Ne Me Quitte Pas".

She had a fall on her first jump. But after that was good.

She goes into 3rd position.

Back to the black desses for Alexandra MARTÍNEZ CARBÓ (MAD). But this one had a strange cut-out at her belly.

Speaking of strange, this is a strange female cover of Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game". No, I don't like it.

Oh, no, it's got even worse!

The irony is, I really enjoyed her skating. It's just the music spoiled it.

She goes into 3rd position.

She's happy.

Last of the girls is Lucía RUIZ MANZANO (MAD), who is wearing a gorgeous black jumpsuit (and that is something coming from somebody who generally doesn't like jumpsuits).

She is skating to a stripped back, accoustic cover of "Fame". I think I recognise the voice, but can't place who it is.

And then it turns into a disco cover by somebody else.

No, I don't like either version.

Sorry Lucía, but the music spoiled my enjoyment of your programme.

She had a fall at the end of the accoustic version. But was otherwise good.

She goes into 3rd position.

Ah. We're starting with somebody I am familiar with. Euken ALBERDI MARTÍNEZ (EUS) is wearing all black.

Don't know the song (it's not what is listed in his ISU Bio), but it worked really well.

And I'm stupid. Euken was the guy sitting with Asier GÓMEZ SERTUTXA (EUS) earlier.

And there is Asier sitting with him! (Along with the girl that was with both of them)

Euken goes into 2nd position.

How did I forget about Tomas LLORENÇ GUARINO SABATÉ (MAD) and his "Minions" programme?!

Well that was a lot of fun.

I know I haven't seen the first group, but I have a sneaky suspicion that we might be getting a new leader.

Awwww. He has lots of cuddly toys.

And I think that is the volunteers all getting their photo taken with him.

Two Catalan boys to finish off the Singles Skating for today.

First up is Guiu OLIVER VERBON (CAT), who is wearing all black.

Oh, this is really bugging me. I know this music, but my mind has gone blank.

Ach, anyway. That was a good skate.

That said, I'm not sure if he was tired or frustrated when he finished.

He goes into 6th position.

Mahery RANDRIANARIVONY LÓPEZ (CAT) wearing a white shirt, brown jumper, and black trousers.

He is skating to the original French version of "Windmills Of Your Mind". I love the English version, but I had never actually heard the French version before. But it was beautiful.

And so was Mahery's skating.

I know it was part of the choreography, but I am not a fan of somebody finishing their programme with their backside on the ice.

He must have his club's entire coaching staff sitting with him!

He goes into 5th position.

Resurfacing now, and then it's Synchronised Skating for the rest of the night.

Well, if you can class 5 teams across 4 competitions as "the rest of the night"!

Friday Night Synchro is starting now.

Before the last resurfacing of the day, we have the Junior team and two Senior Elite 12 teams.

I don't know anything about Synchronised Skating, so I will just watch and not bother commenting.

Actually, after watching the Junior team, I want to say two things.

Firstly, it can't be easy for the TV director selecting which camera shots to use during a Synchro programme, with so many skaters doing things in different parts of the ice. The easy thing to say is "just stick to the camera used during the Warm-Ups that shows the whole rink". But the skaters are so small in that shot that you can't really see what they are doing.

Secondly, it is so hard to fit all the skaters into the results area!

Back from the resurfacing now for the final two teams. The Basic Novice team, followed by the Mixed Age team.

Day 3 starts with a Pairs SP triple-bill. It was supposed to be a group of 2 Advanced Novice partnerships, followed by a group containing 3 Junior partnerships and 1 Senior partnership. But the first Junior partnership has withdrawn.

Nora MELGUIZO GÓMEZ / Pablo BUENO GARCÍA (MAD) were wearing matching black costymes with gold trim.

I can't remember what you call the music, but we've seen it skated to many times. And I always love it.

That was a good start to the day.

Sofía GÓMEZ / Mario MARTÍNEZ-IÑIGUEZ (MAD) were wearing tops which were sky blue on the left hand side, and white on the right hand side; with black bottoms (skirt for Sofía, trousers for Mario).

They were doing a Michael Jackson programme. But it was covers.

For most of the programme, they were good. But, everything went wrong in the last 20 seconds or so.

Ah, that's nice. Pablo from the previous partnership is taking a photo of them.

And now the two partnerships are sitting together to get their photo taken by their coach.

Sofía and Mario go into the lead.
