Strength of Competition

Most people have agreed that this year the women's field is very deep, but what about the men's or the pairs? In the past couple of years, the Ladies seem to hold more interests for people, do you think it's true this year?

Both single's fields were deep this year. Normally the guy's field is deeper than the ladies, but this year they are evenly matched which I think is unprecedented in figure skating. Normally there are only 4 girls worth watching but now with skaters staying in the sport longer, you have more people who challenge at the top. I think that the fields will only get deeper as they adopt the Code of Points b/c that will eliminate placements and a lot of skaters will have a chance to crack the top. With the old system, the champion was always held up and others would have to wait their turn. Now the playing field is level.
