Takahashi withdraws from CoC

Daisuke :( He was my remaining favourite contender after Lambiel retired. I hope he recovers soon...

Sad to hear that he had to withdraw, hopefully he has a full recovery and will be ready for NHK. I hope that Stephen, Jeremy and Vaughn take advantage of this opportunity to do well in this competition. I'm not a big fan of Tomas Verner's skating so go Stephen, Jeremy and Vaughn!

According to the report, he got an MRI, but nothing wrong in his bones. He was then told that he sprained his knee and it would take three weeks to recover. According to the report, however, it hurts so much that it is difficult for him to walk. So he'll get a more complete exam on 7th and they don't know the exact diagnosis yet. But it is reported that they are wondering if he might have ruptured the ligament in his knee and that it might be difficult for him to attend NHK. It is also reported that some ppl have come to worry about the spots for the next Olympics should he withdraw from the Worlds.

Oh no!!! :frown: poor Daisuke!! How heartbreaking. I wish him a speedy recovery. I snapped my ACL and ripped of the meniscus(cartilidge) so I know 1st hand how painful that can be. I hope its nothing major, and he can compete at NHK.

So sad to hear about Daisuke's injury, I hope he recovers soon. This is awful when a greta skater gets injured... this season is kinda weird for me, as I can't watch FS on TV, so I have to relay on youtube or whatever, and now so many skaters going away, retiring or down with injuries... Daisuke, get well soon!!!

Very distressing news. I wish Daisuke courage and strength to endure this difficult time, wisdom to make the right medical decisions, and of course full recovery.

According to the reports, they are worried that he may miss not only CoC, but also the entire season.

He seems to have been injured on Oct 31 while landing a jump and have been told that the sprained knee would take 3 wks to recover. But it sounds like they are worried that it may be even more serious than the initial diagnosis and want to confirm it via a more complete exam.

Even with the initially suggested timeline, I think that it would be difficult for him to compete at NHK with a bad knee and missed practices.

Then, the Nationals will be held at the end of Dec. Hope he can make it. But even if he can't, I guess it would be possible that he would get a spot for the Worlds. The Worlds is four months away and I sincerely hope that he could heal by then.

I hope that the injury won't be too serious, but personally, I would rather he missed all of the coming season than try to force a comeback if he's not 100% medically.

There's a rumor his injury is much more severe. He may have torn apart the archille's tendon.

Wow. This is a shocker. He was the favorite going into worlds last year and definetly on of the favs this year and for the olympics. I hope this does not mean tha end of his career. I will wait for more news with crossed fingers...

Terrible news. I love his new SP, I was looking forward to seeing it in competition so much....hope things don't turn out so bad.
